Detailed Reviews
We booked two nights of a riverside tent site during the long weekend of July 4th. The rates were pricey, close to 150/night, probably due to the fact that all the campsites inside the national park were closed due to COVID-19. Cannot complain about this, since it is indeed difficult during this special pandemic period. My family just wanted to spend some relatively safe days outdoor without too much risky exposure to the virus. However, this place completely failed on taking any steps to prevent virus spread. Except us, I did not see a single person wearing mask in the campground, which is fully compacted during holidays. People were happy, getting together, swimming in the river, looking as if there was no pandemic at all. There are no fences or any separation between different campsites, so you are literally just socially distancing from other unmasked people without any other protection. The bathroom had hot water for shower, but is very narrow and not clean at all, since too many people were swimming and then taking showers (just imagine a shower room on the beach). During our first night stay, within a few hours, there were more than 5 people just crossing straightforward through our campsite, pretending like it was a public area, without wearing any face cover, again! There were just no privacy. The staffs were friendly, but I do not think they made any efforts to stop them doing any of these risky things during this pandemic. This was fine to me if it was normal time, but definitely not fine and even illegal during this COVID-19 period. After all of these, I immediately decided we should leave early the next morning and give up our second night's reservation. So, if you care about COVID-19, and want to find a safe place for outdoor event, you should definitely avoid this place.

Hi Robin, thanks for reaching out to us with your feedback. We're sorry that your experience at our campground was not what you had hoped. Our rates are a reflection of the excellent accommodation and amenities that we offer to our guests. We have implemented several safety measures to protect the health of our guests and employees, but unfortunately, we cannot control the actions of every person that visits our campground. Your feedback is important to us and we will do our best to make improvements in the areas where it's needed. We hope that you give us another chance to impress but until then, take care.

Lovely campground on river, sites are rather close, bathrooms were dirty and need some serious TLC. We've traveled the Eastern & southern coast and these are the worst bathrooms I've ever experienced. Shower curtains don't cover stalls. Tiles were molded, strong urine smell, no door on bathrooms. Ceiling was molded and needed paint.

RV spaces were a little tight. But overall very beautiful area. Online check in was a breeze and staff was there to escort me to my sight and assist with backing in. Weekend was a little loud, but it was peaceful during the week. Great place to relax along the river after long hikes at Sequoia National Park. Will stay again.

We came up for Memorial Weekend extremely happy to find a campground open so we could get away from all the craziness of Covid19. Unfortunately we need 50amps and campsite only had a space available for 30amp. On our 2nd day here during the daytime we turned on our generator so that I could wash a load of towel. Mgmt came over to inform us that this was against the rules and we had to turn it off because someone complained. Seriously??? Someone complained at 930 in the morning about a class a extremely quiet diesel generator? First we couldn’t believe it was a rule. Mgmt explained that it was more for the tent campers and that I could finish my load and I would turn it off. At this point I was more agitated with the fellow camper that had nothing better to do than complain about a generator in daylight hours. Where do they normally camp?? Apparently noise bothers them? But the reason I am giving this campsite one star and will never stay here again is because we proudly fly an American flag and a Blue Lives matter on the back of our coach. My husband has gone to great lengths to do so. Even made sure its lit up at dusk and goes off and sunup. For 4 days straight it has done so at the campground. Last night Memorial Day eve at 930 at night we get a knock on our door from mgmt to turn the light off on our flag. Someone was complaining and we must comply and they were enforcing the rule!! The American Flag must be lit up to fly at night but apparently they don’t care and its more important to them to make one idiot guest that wants to disrespect the flag happy then respect those who serve.
This is the first time I have written a review and we travel all over the US and the world. I just felt the need especially on Memorial Day to vent my frustrations.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Kelly. As stated in our email confirmation to all guests, generators are not allowed any time of day. While we understand the importance of illuminating the flag after many guest complaints of LED lights shining into their windows our manager assessed the situation and determined the flag was not in fact lit, only the pole and it was disruptive to other sites. We're very sorry for any inconvenience this caused and we wish you all the best!

We were unfortunate enough to stay at this campsite for 2 nights because the National Park campgrounds were closed due the COVID 19 pandemic.
First of all the cost of $150 per night for a tent site was extortionate. They are obviously taking advantage and price gouging due to the situation.
Second, someone showed us where to pitch our tents on arrival, and even watched us put the tents up. The following day, when we returned from a day out, our tents had been taken down without our permission and moved to a different site. The tents were not pegged down at the new site and we were missing stakes and ground sheets. They told us we had camped in the wrong place and had to be be moved. Why could they not have told us the night before?
Finally the bathrooms are filthy and no one seemed to be cleaning them on a regular basis. I feel cleaner not showering for 2 days than to risk catching something in those festering holes. Absolutely disgusting.

I’ve been camping my whole life and in my 40+ years this was the most accommodating campsite ever. We prefer not to stay in packed RV parks (BLM land- and NP campgrounds are our fav) but we had no choice this spring break b/c the national park sites were sold out or not open yet. I’m glad we stayed here. The staff was amazing. They delivered ice when we ordered it. They gave us doggy bags and dog treats when they saw us walking our dog. They offered to take our trash when we were headed to the trashcan. And they brought us a free bundle of firewood when we had a misunderstanding at check in. Whenever we were close to each other they put on masks. They exchanged my $10bill for quarters even though the store was not open yet. Everything about this stay was pleasant. I like a little more space between campers but we spent most of our time in the NP so it didn’t really matter. We’d go back.

What an awesome experience! Right on the River!! The staff was very nice and bathrooms were kept clean. Had an issue with another camper and her lighted flag pole that lit up our entire camp site but since it was Memorial Day weekend I thought having a flag up was awesome except you couldn’t even see it. All you could see was the lights wrapped around the pole. I’ve seen other people using a spotlight pointing at the flag from the ground which I think is a better option and more considerate to the people you share a campground with. But overall the staff was very kind and considerate. They had people driving around the campground so it gave me that extra bit of security. Also they have hot showers!! Thankyou again! I will be back!

I went to this camp ground for the 2nd time. The first time I came it was ok. The lady in the little store was very rude. Also, the bathrooms are the worst. There are doo doo stains on the floor and mud and dirt. The water faucets don’t even work then just drip drip drip water. The worker was very rude (male) he was acting very child like. We also had a misunderstanding at check out and they kicked out somebody from our family and banned them from the camp ground. They didn’t do anything wrong. Also we had another misunderstanding but it was not our faults and we got blamed. The same rude employee (same male) called the sherif for no reason. The only good thing about this campground is the lake but last time I went there (first time) there where dead fish in the water

From the moment we arrived the experience was very nice and relaxing, the staff were very help full and friendly. Great launching point for going up to see the giant Sequoia tress. The grounds were clean and so was the cabin we stayed in, looking forward to our next visit.

+1
This is our first trip with RV to visit Sequoia. We arrived at the site late evening of Thu 04/29/21. Their staff escorted us to a spot which was very helpful. The RV spot seems a bit too close together. Our RV is about 28 ft long so we could not hook up our sewage line because our hose was not long enough.
Overall the site is in good condition. The bathroom was not too bad. I walked around the tent area. It looks pretty nice, especially the spot by the river.
I was glad that we were there during that time. I can see it could get super busy in the summer.

They have in ground pits that double as a grill.
We were in Cabin 4. There were 2 plastic dishes initially, and we were able to get a couple more from the office. Somehow, our daughter was able to cook a meal despite a lack of cooking items !
