I like things simple and clean, and this hotel is neither. There is not a wall or surface in the entire building that is not adorned with some piece of Southwestern art or Santa Fe kitsch, and yet somehow it all seems to work. La Fonda has a long history in Santa Fe at the center of industry for this...

Dear criticdesandiego, Thanks so much for your review of our historic hotel. La Fonda on the Plaza is a hotel that originally defined the Santa Fe style, in terms of both its Spanish Pueblo revival architectural design and its 90 year old history. Guests that truly enjoy La Fonda are seeking a hotel that that enables them to discover more...

I stayed here for business, but the stay was a pleasure! The hotel staff is well trained and understands the concept of hospitality. There was a large crowd of us that arrived on a shuttle from the airport and one person on the desk at checkin. Within 2-3 minutes, 3 additional staff members arrived from different parts of the hotel...

My friend and I took a road trip across New Mexico and ended our vacation in Santa Fe. I decided to splurge and got us a room on the Terrace level. It was definitely worth it. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially the two concierges we worked with, Pamela and Colby. The room was beautiful and I wish we...

This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. The hotel is steeped in history, which was honored in a thoughtful renovation within the past few years. It preserved the feeling of the decor created in the late 1920s by Mary Colter, who was then the architect for the Fred Harvey Company and used local craftspeople for many finishes. I...

Having grown up in New Mexico, I only had the pleasure of staying at the La Fonda once when I was young. The La Fonda had always been considered the preeminent hotel in New Mexico and it had been a very exciting experience for 14-year-old boy. 48 years later, my wife and I had the pleasure of staying here again...

This historical hotel across from the Old Town Plaza in Santa Fe, NM is a wonderful place to relax while enjoying the atmosphere of Piñon wood fireplaces and silent snow showers. We have been enjoying the ambiance of La Fonda for over 25 years. Whether just the two of us or traveling with friends, the hotel has always been a...

Enjoyed a quick trip to Santa Fe where we stayed at La Fonda due to its location and historic status. Perfect location near the beautiful churches in Santa Fe, the shops surrounding the plaza and the state capitol. Enjoyed the convenience and the southwestern elegance of the room.

This hotel has just undergone a major renovation. That being said, I had never satyed here, so I cant tell you the new look is a vast improvement or not...We stayed in the La Terraza (Concierge level) room. I wanted a fireplace ( one of the main reasons for choosing this room..a fireplace room) in the room. I am sad...
