We got married at Roche and go back a few times each year. The resort is magical, always meets our standards, and the staff is amazing. I usually dont give such good reviews, but honestly this one is worth the trip and stay.

@Michael K And we love having you both back! As we talked about while you were up here last month, we're huge fans of the strong connection between our wedding clients and the property for the years and decades after the wedding. I'll be in touch soon to follow up on that thing we talked about! ;) Sam Jacobson, Lodging... More

We stayed in the condo/apartment complex just off the main resort (it's walking distance). While our 2-bedroom unit looked a little bit dated (I'd guess that it was last renovated in the early 90s), it was clean and well-maintained. There was one instance where we were reminded that we were on an island. On our last day, the entire complex... More

@gomk The condos are a great place for base camp on the island for all the reasons you describe. I'm glad to hear we were helpful in getting you out to see what the region has to offer. And, yes, the isolation of the island is a blessing and a curse, often within a few moments of each other. Thanks... More

We had a wonderful time at Roche Harbor. We bicycled to the ferry in Anacortes. Took the ferry to Friday Harbor and then bicycled about 12 miles to Roche Harbor where we spent the night at the Hotel de Haro on the 2nd floor corner with a beautiful view of the marina and resort. Our room was exquisite. Bed was... More

@jeangb2014 Cool way to hit the island, by bicycle! Must have been a fun ride and transition to take slowly, moving from the mainland and traffic whizzing by, and then get to "island time" after landing on the rock. Super immersive experience...and surely one to remember. Looking forward to pushing repeat on it all this spring or next fall. Sam... More

Spent a relaxing two-night stay in Roche Harbor. The accommodations were outstanding; ours was a suite of rooms in old mansion, with a balcony overlooking the harbor. The dining was excellent, and the atmosphere was very romantic. We'll be back.

@Gary A The Hotel de Haro is a real treat to stay in - the oldest operating hotel in WA. We have the second license of incorporation, and the first is out of business. Who knows how many interesting and amazing people have had the same experience as you in our Grand Dame. Hope to see you back again soon.... More

Until you actually drive into the resort you have no idea what's in store for you. It's a beautiful historical community. The resort IS the entire town, complete with restaurant's, grocery store, laundry, post office, shops and even a Bocce Ball Court! They also make fresh donuts every morning. We stayed in the Quarryman's Hall in a corner room overlooking... More

Exceptional from the moment you realize the whole "town" is the resort. We stayed in a corner view room in the Quarryman Hall and could not have been more pleased. Sunset drink on our balcony was sublime. Having a small grocery store and bocce ball court was a nice surprise. The lowering of the flag "Colors" while having dinner was... More

@wenicki thanks for the review of your recent stay. I'm glad to hear you had a fun time with the little things about the resort, and, yes, pretty cool that the resort and town are pretty much the same thing. Certainly makes the "government" function pretty well when it's under one ecosystem. Good to see you felt the effects...Sam Jacobson,... More

Roche Harbor Resort is one of the "Grand" old time resorts. From the moment you arrive, you feel as though you have stepped back into a more elegant, more refined time. From all of its historic elements, to its new amenities that one expects from a first-class resort, it does not disappoint. The location is beautiful, the amenities first class,... More

From the moment you crest the hill overlooking the hotel area, to the walk up to the front desk, the history and the sense of time passed surround you. We were very pleased with our room at the Roche Harbor Resort. We stayed in a king room in Quarryman Hall. It had a spectacular view and was quite luxurious. Our stay was to get away for some R&R and it definitely met our expectations for relaxation and enjoyment. We will return soon.
