The Menger is a great place to stay. The location is near the Alamo, Riverwalk and many shops. The negative about the Hotel is that you are required to use valet. The wait time was unacceptable to get the vehicle.

The Menger is a charming historical (and larger than it seems ) hotel adjacent to the Alamo. The location is excellent. I didn't research it that much, but it looks like there was an original hotel, with a good portion added onto (maybe early to mid 1900s) and then a newer portion (late 1900's). We were in probably a second...

Really enjoyed the hotel and its history. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The location to the river walk was easy to access. We could have used a map of the hotel that would have been helpful. Overall excellent.

The hotel is a historical place so the rooms are smaller and bathrooms are small. The room was comfortable and had a great view of the Alamo. The only bad thing was hearing all the party people late at night walking past. Hotel is supposedly haunted but I didn't hear anything.

Prior to our stay at The Menger Hotel, I didn't know much about its history. As soon as you walk through the hotel doors, you can feel there's definitely something different about this hotel. Upon arrival, it took us nearly 45 minutes to get to our room because of sheer volume of history that surrounds you! From the comfortable and...

I do realize this is an old hotel, but for the price I truly expected it to be much better than it was. Yes, it was conveniently located, but I believe the establishment could have offered much more than it did.

This hotel is awesome, with one major flaw it allows children to stay there. This hotel is historic and it should be for couples (i.e. no children ) it is very romantic and should be kept that way. Our stay there was for our honeymoon and did not want to hear screaming children ! I hope the management of the...

The hotel staff were very nice. The hotel is located directly across from the Alamo and within walking distance to the River Walk and associated restaurants, bars, etc. It's 2 blocks from the convention center. Room was a little small but very cozy and quiet. Bed was wonderful. Shower had a very powerful flow of water, but the tub drained...

“The room was spacious that I had. A/C worked well. It was near the Ice machine. This trip was during Fiesta and there was more activity in the hall ways than normal. It quieted down by 10 o clock.”
