My spouse and I stayed for four nights at the Menger on a recent vacation trip to San Antonio. We prefer older hotels with idiosyncratic charm .. and windows that actually open ... over the anonymous boxes of the newer chains. The Menger did not disappoint. Beds were very comfortable, with duvets and piles of pillows. The shower was obviously...

My wife and I stayed at the Menger Hotel earlier this week for a few days. It was wonderful! Great historic hotel, beautiful decor, and wonderful people. We ate in the Colonial Restaurant, in the hotel on two days for breakfast and one day for dinner. All was wonderful. Our dinner was the best, as we had a wonderful woman...

The hotel is beautiful. We love to stay in historic places, and the Menger is very well maintained. Our only complaint was the mattress. While it appeared new and was firm, it was heavily tufted, with a thin mattress cover. It felt like we were sleeping on bumps all night. This would normally be a deal breaker, but we enjoyed...

The Menger was a nice hotel. I stayed 2 nights in a small single room. The high ceilings were really cool, and the view was nice. Bathroom was very cool with old black and white tile. I love the historical feel of the hotel. Great location for the Alamo and Riverwalk. It was easy for me to walk to the...

I stayed at The Menger for two nights in February, facilitating a group of visitors for corporate training. Justin, at the front desk, was incredibly friendly and accomodating. Overall, the property is historically beautiful and situated perfectly for easy access to the Riverwalk, Alamo, and LaVillita.

Surrounded by vintage furnishings, the rooms are comfortable and well maintained. It's heart is historic but it is worth noting it has witnessed renovations and expansion. All around are photographs and memorabilia, especially relating to Teddy Roosevelt as well as artworks referencing the defense of the Alamo. Nearby are many shopping and dining options but the Menger holds it own,...

You could stay at one of the Riverwalk hotels that are trendier, but this hotel has so much history that it permeates! The rooms are wonderful, the lobby is fantastic, and location is impossible to beat.

The Menger Hotel was first opened in 1859. It is right next to the Alamo and The Riverwalk is only one block away. The room we had was a little small but it had everything that you would find in a modern hotel. There is a nice dining room on the first floor as well as The Famous Menger Bar....

We arrived a little late, but were automatically upgraded to the Roy Rogers Suite! We were expecting everything we got! Great hotel, best breakfast. It is close to all of the River Walk things you would want to see.

The Menger is a Historic Hotel very well located and a little less expensive than the ones on the Riverwalk. even though it is an old building the rooms are spacious and comfortable. yet, the toilets have no towel hangers. due to the age of the building it is a bit noisy in the nights because you can hear the...
