The Menger Hotel is a fantastic Hotel to stay in. The cost is quite reasonable and there are two beds in the Suite of two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. One could spend the better part of a day looking at the historic pictures and beautiful antiques throughout the Hotel. The staff is exceptional. The Hotel is immaculate. The Hotel... More

My Wife and I have stayed here a few times and always enjoy the atmosphere and the incredible staff. This hotel is one of our favorites and we travel a lot. The Menger Bar is Awesome! We will continue to stay there when we go to San Antonio even though this time there was no heat in our room for... More

My husband and I visited along with another couple last weekend and we had a great time! The staff was super-friendly from the front desk to the folks cleaning the rooms. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained and has the right amount of modernism yet is period to date on the surface. Their restaurant The Colonial is wonderful and worth... More

We had a blast. It was the perfect location for the boat parade and tree lighting. It is walking distance to everywhere so we never had to get the car out and worry about parking. Excellent food also.

A historical property by definition is not new. I am always amazed when I read reviews of some place I have visited and often wonder if the reviewer and I were at the same property. The Menger has charm, heritage and its own style of luxury. We just completed a 3 night stay at the Menger for the Thanksgiving holiday.... More

Hotel over all looked nice. The room was clean but the walls were so thin I could hear the person in the room next door burp! I listened to someone hit their snooze for 45 minutes. It was so bad we moved hotels the next night.

The people that helped us were great, but the hotel was older and very different from what I'm use to. So legend says it's haunted, which could have been fun, but being on a business trip I didn't have time to explore that aspect of my trip. The walls were very thin, I could hear conversations and the TV in... More

I appreciate the time you took to share your experience at our historic hotel. Your room was in the original section built in 1859. Back in 1859 there was no piping for the bathroom and the only way to add the piping was to install a raised floor, hence the step up. The original section is the only section with... More

The Menger is an old hotel with the quirks and charms of one, including the shower--which has separate hot and cold taps and takes a while to get the hot water flowing--and the heat, which they don't turn on until the temperature drops below 45 F (we had one night of 37, and it seems like they did not turn... I appreciate all of your comments and I will share this with the entire staff. The Menger Bar was added in 1887 and it is a replica of the House of Lords Pub in London, England. The Historic Menger Hotel was built in 1859 and we house many historical items and antique furniture. In addition and most importantly, thank you... More
