Hilton Palacio del Rio in San Antonio, TX is perfectly located on the San Antonio River Walk. Directly across from the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and only 2 blocks from the Alamo and Hemisfair Park. If the River Walk is your primary destination, we are the place to stay. Every room in our hip hacienda-style hotel has a private balcony overlooking the River Walk or downtown San Antonio skyline. We are walking distance to restaurants, bars and shops, with 25 meeting rooms and event spaces including The Pavilion by Hilton. In addition we have 3 on-site outlets for food and beverage: Tex’s Sports Bar (the only sports bar on the San Antonio River Walk), River’s Edge Cafe + Patio Bar and our famous Durty Nelly's Irish Pub. Our historic hotel was built using modular construction in a record 202 days. Opening April 6, 2018, in time for Hemisfair '68 Worlds Fair, we were the first luxury hotel in downtown San Antonio, welcoming guests from all over the world.

Stayed one night over Thanksgiving weekend and what a treat. Excellent service but happened to stay here on a night the Christmas Lights were turned on. Really neat! Lots of people but we just jumped right onto the river walk from the hotel. Great hotel bar and restaurant

Clean room, friendly staff, beautiful hotel. We came for a gymnastics competition for my daughter and it was a lot of fun staying here and enjoying the Riverwalk with my family. We will come back to San Antonio and look at staying here again.

I have been to many Hilton hotels and Marriott Hotels. This hotel is the top Hilton Hotel. The smell is great and the room is very clean. The breakfast make it more attractive. The taste is really awesome!

Close to Alamo area, Little Church of La Villita, Casa Rios. Rooms are nice; balconies are wonderful. Please note that there is a workout facility although I couldn't find any signs indicating where it was. It hides on the 5th floor. :) It's quite small but has good equipment.

Where do you park if you don't use valet parking?
They offer valet parking which was very slow when I was there. Public parking is 2 blocks away. The hotel valets are parked there.

Are the river view rooms worth the additional cost?
I would say no. I got a river view room as an "upgrade" because I was an Hhonors Gold member. However, I couldn't even see the river from the room and had to go to the balcony to see the river all the way down...not a great sight and I didn't understand why it was an upgrade.

Does this hotel have an airport shuttle?
No. I took a cab to the hotel and it ran about 32 dollars plus tip on the way to the hotel. On my return trip I used UBER and it cost about 15 dollars tip included in price. UBER rates may depend on time of day and demand. Download their app, create a profile with credit card information, and enter your destination. The app will give you the price, description of the vehicle, driver's name and wait time. If I were doing it again... it would be UBER all the way!
