First of all I have to say this was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. My family travels several times a year for business and leisure. I would not have chosen this hotel due to the ratings, but unfortunately we did not have a choice due to my daughters volleyball team had a tournament and the entire...

We booked this hotel for some rest and relaxation on the river walk. We used Orbitz to book it and went purely on the ratings there. The rating was comparable to more expensive hotels in the same category. A word to the wise....don't trust ratings. We were treated very well upon arrival. The room we settled on was large but...

I honestly didn't expect too much from this hotel but I was very surprised by the quality of the hotel once we arrived. The room was nice. Beds and pillows were plentiful and very comfortable which is a must. Everything was clean and functioning. We ate at their breakfast buffet on the first morning which was decent especially since the...

Positives: The rate was excellent, the in/out valet or self parking was reasonably priced. The hotel is located a short, short walk away from the Rio Taxi service, so you can travel to downtown via the river taxi or the Riverwalk. The restaurants were a great value for the money and the food was excellent. Overall, I would stay here...

I stayed at the El Tropicano Hotel two weeks ago. I had a meeting downtown and I made reservations originally because of location (downtown close enough to all attractions and my client) and most importantly price. I found a great price via the hotel's website. Upon arrival, I was upgraded by the evening Manager (shorter lady with beautiful eyes; sorry...

This hotel is on the North museum tail of riverwalk and a great price! We were in town to visit lights on riverwalk and see musical at the Majestic Theater. The quick, $5.00 cab ride to our favorite restaurant made the value of this hotel even better. Alamo is easy few blocks walk away. Super nice staff at check-in and...

This was our second stay. We enjoyed our first stay in one of the poolside rooms, so engaged poolside this time too. This room even better with walkout to a patio. It was Dec 30 and cold so not usable but still enjoyed the visual space. We had our 9 yr old grandson with us and he enjoyed it too....

Staying a week not just a night. Off the main river part which was fine. It is not a far walk. Hotel front desk people were great and friendly. Valet misplaced our car keys the first night. 15 mins later we had that figured out. Fourth floor smelled like vomit at the elevators. First room had mildew in the shower...
