Stayed in the Gunter for the first time. While its undergone a recent renovation, that doesn't include the bathrooms (just a warning if that's important to you); they are small and the fixtures old. That said, it was not as big deal for us as the temperature control...our room was hot, and we couldn't set the thermostat lower than 73...

This place has so much historic beauty. They recently updated the lobby, but it still maintains its historic charm. The staff was really friendly. Loved the evening cocktail/snack reception and the morning continental breakfast on the executive level. The only issue was that there was a LOT of street noise coming through the window (5th floor). There was no way...

We stayed in San Antonio at the Sheraton Gunter for our anniversary trip. We had tickets for O'Reilly/Miller presentation at The Majestic Theatre right across the street from the hotel. I did my research on Trip Advisor and based on reviews, we opted to stay here for the weekend. As Sheraton members we had a good deal on the room...

The excellent Westin Riverwalk was full but referred me to this "sister property." Ugh! There's a reason it has vacancies. Arrived to be told by valet that no parking is available. No offer to unload bags, instead pointed to a spot to leave bags before I should move to a commercial lot. Concierge floor turned out to be access to...

For some reason the housekeeping staff forgot to clean our room on our second day here. We called to complain and just requested coffee and creamer for the next morning. We said we did not want to participate in their "green" program and wanted the room cleaned and have fresh linens and towels every day. Also mentioned to housekeeping that...

My boyfriend and I visited San Antonio in January 2015 and stayed at the Sheraton Gunter for 5 days. I would like to start off by sharing that I am not a person who is easily impressed. However, from the moment of entering the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised by the costumer service, hospitality and the friendliness of all the...

I get that a lot of hotels have "dog floors". It makes sense to put all the puppy mess on one floor. It's also counteractive, because every dog smells the other dogs, and you can see where they've all marked, which leads to more marking. Also, when one dog starts barking, you just wait for all the others to go...

This hotel is great because it's within walking distance of many great San Antonio tourist attractions, The Alamo, The Riverwalk, The Villita etc. The staff is helpful and the rooms are comfortable minus the tiny bathrooms. However, if you are the kind of person that freaks out when you see evidence of the last guest, you might be bothered. There...

Upon check in the front desk took my id and gave me the room key. There were maybe 5 words spoken during the check in process. I felt that she was not very customer service orientied and we were the only ones at the desk. It was not a great start to the stay. We went to the 9th floor...

What a beautiful and historic hotel! The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and room service professional. The lobby is gorgeous, and the two luncheons provided for our conference were just delicious. We found the entire staff to be personable and helpful. Altogether a wonderful stay.

Thank Caren T
