Rising six stories, the Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites on Pickering Wharf Marina blends a contemporary outlook with an appreciation for the area's proud past. It is Salem's newest boutique hotel with a warm nautical décor. The 86 rooms and suites have handsome wood furnishings, fabrics in soothing shades and windows that let in lots of light. Look for flat-panel TVs with cable channels, pillowtop beds and high-end Keurig coffeemakers. There are complimentary wired and wireless internet connections available throughout the property, and loaner iPads are available in the lobby. Local calls are free, as are morning newspapers in lobby. It is the only hotel downtown Salem with a heated indoor pool, and the fitness room is packed with cardio and strength-training equipment. Specializing in locally caught seafood, the on-site restaurant, The Regatta Pub, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner for a "Cool and Casual Fare with Flair". In warmer weather, the tables spill out onto the patio and on cooler nights we have roaring firepits for guests to relax and enjoy a beverage or meal next to. Laundry service is a plus and Parking is always free. Our doormen will be most happy to assist with luggage assistance. LOCATION: With more than 300 years of history just outside the front door, the Salem Waterfront Hotel is a great base for exploring. The hotel sits at Pickering Wharf, close to lots of shopping and dining opportunities. Within walking distance are attractions like the Peabody Essex Museum and the historic Phillips House. Boston Logan International Airport is 15 miles southwest and Boston is 20 miles.

My husband and chose this hotel due to it’s proximity to a concert we were attending. The room was spacious and clean. We were on the third floor. The room temperature was cool and the heat wasn’t coming out. My husband went to the front desk twice. A woman promptly came to

From the maintenance people to the manager and everyone in between, this hotel is by far the best in Salem. I've stayed there in the winter, the summer and of course, during the Halloween season. I am always treated like I am someone special. The Regatta manager Shanti (?),

My husband and I are becoming Friday night regulars at the Regatta Pub located inside the Salem Waterfront Hotel & Suites. The owner provided free meals to all Federal employees affected by the recent Government shutdown. My husband and I had 2 excellent meals at the pub. The

We appreciate your kind words, Colleen! Our community is like our family, and we would always love to keep reaching out especially in times of need. We appreciate the services that government employees provide our cities and towns, our states, our nation and serviced all around the world. We're thrilled to keep helping out whenever we can. We're so glad to have been able to assist you and your family, and especially happy to hear that Valerie went above and beyond for you! We hope we will be able to see you again soon, and thank you for stopping by!

Great hotel by the sea, room quiet and modern. Close to the NPS quay historic center, and within walking distance of old historic center and museum. The breakfast was good, tried the omlette of the day and they were always very good. Would return and highly recommend

Tired but decent hotel with good sized room and bathroom. However the toiletries were subpar and the bathroom lighting was so terrible, I had to squat on the floor before the window with a hand mirror to get enough light to put on my make-up! At this price, the basic services

Thank you, Arrow101. Your feedback is always important to us here at the hotel. We're surprised that our bathroom amenities were below your expectations, as we usually get rave reviews of our Tarocco products! As for your bathroom lighting, I have forwarded this concern to the rest of the management team so we can better serve our future guests and make necessary updates to our rooms. We appreciate you staying with us! Please let me know if there are any other concerns, and we will be happy to address them with you.

The beginning of April can be cold, but usually not snow. I'd highly recommend the Witch Wax museum. I used to take my daughters when they were around 11, they loved Salem. They are in their 30's now but we still enjoyed it this summer. There is a night time town tour that is really fun, too. Yes, I think the Gable house tour would be appropriate but I haven't done that one in years. Hope this helps.

Not sure about that particular function, but be careful of other functions taking place that weekend. My experience was having to park down the street when I purchased a sweetheart package. Wasn't happy with that experience, other than that a beautiful town and beautiful people!
