First of all it's a lovely building and lovely location close to bars and great food etc however we weren't warned about the heavy bass that would persist throughout the room till the early hours. It was a Monday evening and the bass persisted till well after 1am. Even with earplugs in sleeping was a chore. Come to play not...

I decided to stay a this historic hotel because it is the oldest in Tucson. It is the hotel that Dillinger was caught at after a bank robbery. The hotel is very dated but it is an okay stay. The beds were comfortable but some rooms very small. There is no tv but they do have internet. I would stay...

I highly recommend this hotel for someone who wants to party in downtown Tucson for the weekend and enjoy a lively bar scene and music venue. This centrally located historic hotel transforms into an active bar scene on the weekends and is also within walking distance of several excellent restaurants and other music venues and bars. It also houses a...

I got what I was looking for, a very central hotel with everything you need inside & around. Great coffee and loads of quality eating options aroundabout together with a nearby gym & record shops with live music downstairs and across the road. I loved the lobby, full of life and yes the place creaks, doesn't worry me, its not...

I arrived in Tucson after a long trip by road from Hermossillo. And by chance arrived at the Congress Hotel. And it had been a great stay, felt like a kid coming back to the past, we really loved this hotel. After a good dinner at the restaurant, we heard some music and a big party was on…and it was...

I've been curious about this place for years, but we usually stay with family when visiting Tucson. This time we branched out. The Hotel Congress was everything I expected (which was kind of an upscale youth hostel) and more. It is a luxury hotel by turn of the (last) century standards, and it's noisy. No TVs or elevator, very little...

Besides being *shipster hotel with dressed up teen-agers and young adults in the lobby waiting in line to get access to the hotel's bar/club/restaurant, this hotel didn't meet some basic needs that customers may have after a long trip. For us (a couple), the noise was not the biggest problem as many people state here because "historic rooms" were quite...

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing to stay at the historic Hotel Congress. We recognize our hotel is not for everyone and sometimes guests can have different expectations for a hotel close to 100 years old. The history and early 20th century charm of the Hotel Congress is not to be denied, nor is their excellent restaurant. But as a hotel, the place is not much. Dear Guest, It's disappointing to hear you felt your room stay was less than desirable. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Congress is listed on the National Historic Hotel Registry. We pride ourselves on the many unique features we offer that you'd be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. This historic Tucson hotel transports you back in time. Some cynical city-slicker types might notice the absence of a television in any of our 40 rooms and feel slighted. But it's intentional - we strive to maintain the Hotel's original ambiance - from the iron bed to the vintage radio, from the comforting rumble of the nearby iron horse to the retro-style phone that actually connects to a switchboard at the front desk. All rooms are uniquely designed offering an original experience every time and unlike most historic hotels, all rooms have private bathrooms, free high speed internet, and a private guest lounge. The lounge offers our patrons a large-screen television with unlimited channels as well as free computer access. You can also enjoy the exclusive outdoor patio, where you can soak-up the Tucson sunshine year round. We have new upgrades for our guests, to ensure an amazing experience during your stay at Hotel Congress. *Bike Program - We now have bicycles that our guests are able to check out to explore Tucson during their stay! We recommended guests to bike the Santa Cruz River Trail, and the Train Trail behind Maynards Market and Kitchen. Let us help you explore Downtown Tucson in a new way! *Snacks from local vendors - Enjoy some treats from our local vendors. Every room has a tray filled with a variety of snacks that are available to purchase. We have: Cactus candy, Rbar Energy Bar, Spunlight Cotton Candy, Green Valley pecans, Essentia Ionized Water, POPPED Artisan Popcorn, Cerreta Candy Co., and the Kobito Hangover and Love Kits. *Guest Room Internet - We now provide super high speed wireless Internet in our guest rooms that is 10x faster than before! ... more   less
