If you want to explore Saguaro right from the heart of it and get the best of your stay then choose Crickethead Inn. This is an amazing place, very friendly hosts who know the desert very well. And yes, be prepared to have the best breakfast you ever had during any of your previous trips anywhere! :) All this in...

B&B's can be all over the map, so to speak. In my opinion, the best ones are in unusual locations, have worthwhile surroundings, and have engaging hosts, all this without breaking the travel budget. I can't express fully how delighted I was to find the Crickethead Inn, west of Tucson, on a recent trip. I probably would not have learned...

The others reviews have said it all. Quiet desert setting next to Saguaro National Park, wildlife, comfortable room, fabulous unique and varied breakfast. Mike and Wayan share their life and life experiences. Besides the beautiful desert setting, they grow many beautiful potted plants. Wayan is a fabulous cook and the breakfast is a cultural experience in itself, but from many...

A cool place to stay in the desert is with Mike over at the Crickethead Inn. Mike is married to Wayan who is from Bali so the place is a kind of Indonesian/Western mix, which is pretty unique. A beautiful garden is full of fine cacti which are also for sale, as well as Wayans's herbs and spices which she...

The Crickethead Inn, backing right onto Saguaro National Park, is an immersive desert experience. Jackrabbits leap across the long, rocky, dirt driveway (Don't worry, our rented Mini Cooper made it down with a little careful driving!), javelinas visit the water hole immediately behind the back patio, and the water attracts half-a-dozen or more varieties of birds: mourning doves, white-winged doves,...

As we observed a family of javelina at the waterhole as we were checking in, we knew this place was going to be good. The view from the patio reminds one of a postcard showing all Sonoran desert flora and fauna impossibly placed in one scene. Cardinal, Curve-billed Thrasher, Gilded Flicker, Gila Woodpecker, Gambel's Quail, Canyon Towhee, MacGillivray's Warbler, Ladder-backed...

Just returned East after spending 3 wonderful days at the inn. We have traveled around the world and have rarely found hosts as warm, friendly and kind as Mike and Wayan. The breakfasts were great - yogurt and fresh fruit, homemade baked treats and a main that is different every day. If there are a few guests, Wayan may make...

If you have a spirit of adventure and a love of the unusual, you're in for a treat. Mike and Wayan have blended Tucson and Indonesia in a charming way in this B&B. Mike built the huge house himself--check out the big beams of quality hardwood--and Wayan, who had a women's art gallery in Bali, apparently brought it to the...

A three night stay here was a very happy experience to start our tour in Arizona. We loved to sit on the veranda watching the many birds visiting for food put out by Wayan and in the mornings, the limping coyote and a family of javelinas. The veranda looked straight out into desert with saguaros scattered around and many other...

We so much enjoyed staying at Crickethead Inn. We wanted to stay away from the busy city, but fairly close by. What a gem we found! The grounds are spectacular, the hosts are charming, and we can't wait to go back. It will be our home away from home in Tucson from now on when we go to visit family....
