The hotel is a nice place. Friendly staff, nice decor.
Steer clear of the room service, I ordered the blue crab Benedict and a cappacino.
A few minutes later they called back and told me they were out of crab and offered to substitute lobster....More
It's a beautiful hotel. I have been here a few times pre-remodel and loved it. This time was horrendous.
Our first night we woke up to a horrid skunk pot smell all through the hall and in the elevators. When we asked the front desk...More

Dinner in Providence is first-rate. There are plenty of great restaurants, especially in the Federal Hill area. Since the area is home to Johnson & Wales University, where there's one of the country's best Culinary and Hospitality programs, you'll find young students and recent grads who are working their best to further their careers. As a result, you find amazing food at the local restaurants (even the chains), and great service at the area hotels. The Renaissance always has young people working there, and they're always friendly, helpful, and professional.
The bottom line is, you can't go wrong eating anywhere in Providence.
