We found this place via tripadvisor and are so glad that we did. Why the five stars? First it is quiet and restful yet still nearby Rocky Mountain National Park. Next, the cabin, while designed as a cabin and not a luxury hotel, was very clean and comfortable and adequately appointed. We actually liked the wood cabin feel of it....

Thanks for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay with us here at the lodge. Last night, we had our first little skiff of snow of the season, and trail ridge road is temporarily closed and I'm sure will re-open for the weekend with temps swinging back into the 60's and maybe low 70's. Always fun...

One of our favorite places in the world. If you want to get away from it all and still have enough to do, this is a perfect place. Right next to the National Park for a gorgeous drive and photographers dream with beautiful wild life and great hiking trails. Clean rooms, amazing staff. We have got to go back soon!!!

Carla, So glad you enjoyed the views as much as we enjoy sharing them with you! This week, the aspens across the way on Deer Mountain are starting to show their golden splendor. We have also started hearing the Elk bugling (sometimes well into the early morning hours) as well. Few bears have been rambling through the property as well...

McGregor Mountain Lodge was chosen primarily because it is dog friendly. But what a great choice it was! Chris, one of the owners, personally escorted us to view the cabin before we checked in. He is so friendly and very accommodating. We stayed in cabin #4 and had a spectacular view of the mountains from our front porch. This facility...

Hi Dianne, Thanks for taking the time to write a review about the lodge...and we certainly appreciated having you all here! And the pooch too! I know how hard it can be when traveling with your four-legged companions to find a place to stay. Glad we met your needs, and we had a place for you! Funny you mention the...

My husband and I picked Rocky Mountain National Park for our mini-moon right after we got married in Boulder, and McGregor Mountain Lodge was the perfect rustic little home base for us (and you can't get any closer to the park gates!). We got the Knotty Pine room 8A, where multiple reviews deemed as the one with the best view,...

Thanks for taking the time to write a review on your "mini-moon" at McGregor. The leaves across the way are just starting to turn yellow, and the Elk have already begun their bugling. Seems about 2 or 3 weeks early to me, but perhaps they know more than we do about this winter and the upcoming weather? Either way, this...

What a fun surprise to travel thru Rocky Mountain National Park from Breckenridge and find a 1 night vacancy welcoming dogs! We tried to book in advance and 3 night minimum. Bridgette the innkeeper is so welcoming and made us feel right at home. 5 stars Very clean and simple. Loved sitting on the porch in the adirondack chairs. Wood...

We chose McGregor since it is so near the entrance to RMNP and has such cute cabins. We were not disappointed. In fact, Bridgette, the innkeeper, helped make this the best visit I have ever had to Estes Park! Our cabin was a 2 bedroom, 1 bath unit; Roomy, comfortable, clean, really nice. We had a picnic table, Adirondack chairs...

Thanks for taking the time to share with others your experience here at McGregor! We certainly hope the meteor shower did not disappoint! I was outside the other night walking the dogs and was pleased to see a shooting star traverse across the sky for what seemed to be longer than I had ever seen before. Certainly the weather could...

We loved our stay at McGregor's! We stayed in Cabin #2. It has 2 bedrooms, plus a comfy sleeper sofa, and was perfect for our group of 5 people. It also has a nice living room and small kitchen with everything you may need to prepare your own food if you wish. The cabin also has a porch with a...

First of all, I give McGregor Mountain Lodge itself 5 stars. The place is very clean and beautiful. You will find yourself submerged in a world of nature with many visits from elk, deer, and hummingbirds. The views from our chalet were magnificent and the swing seats kept us more than happy many hours of the each day. The reason,...

Thanks for taking the time to write a review...as we work hard to manage the calendar and keep our property full, it is difficult at times to deal with family emergencies that cause changes in peoples plans. More often than not, I find us re-renting cabins and refunding, at least partially stays, even though cancels occurred well within our 7...

Great place to stay with beautiful scenery views. Had a large Elk bed down under our bedroom window one day. Very close to the entrance of Rock Mountains. Nice kitchen from having breakfast in the morning. Perfect for two families sharing two units together.

Thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us here at McGregor! Indeed, its that time of year that the elk are starting to show up more and more regularly. Enjoy frequent visits from our resident wildlife that include large bull elk, mule deer, foxes, coyotes, and the Rocky Mountain big horn sheep. A myriad of birds frequent our bird feeders strategically placed (and filled daily) at each cabin so you never have to leave the comfort of your "home" to observe these winged and furry critters.
