Wonderful location near the entrance to the park. Individual cabins with privacy. Large living/kitchen/family room, bedroom and bath. Most units require climbing several steps to enter. Not sure if they have wheelchair accessible cabins. Large windows in each cabin that look out onto the Estes...More
Spent four days at McGregor Mountain Lodge. The place was just great. So much wildlife around. Felt like I was in a very secluded forested area but had all the comforts of my home. The property was exceptionally well taken care of and could ask...More
Another stay at McGregor Mountain Lodge - another time in Paradise. The location is perfect, near town and restaurants, but still quiet and peaceful. What we like most is the wildlife. This time we saw wild turkeys for the first time. And of course Elk...More
We got a bit unlucky weather-wise (rain/snow in September), but the lodge was absolutely incredible! Perfectly located not too far from town and right around the corner from the national park entrance, this was an excellent pied-a-terre for several days of hiking and relaxing. When...More

There is a trail that heads up the mountain behind the cabins - not an "official trail" bit actually a path made by elk and sheep when they come down. McGregor's is very close to the northern entrance to the park - on US34 - and RMNP has many trails - from in the meadow, along streams to waterfalls, up the mountains to lakes, or hiking at 12000 feet on the Old Ute trail - something for everyone depending on your mood that day

Hi there! Although there is a wide variety of places to fish in and around Estes, we don't have access right on property. Just a 5 min drive into town to fish at lake Estes, and various lakes and streams in the National park and in the area for fishing anywhere from a 5-30 min drive or hike depending on what kind of fishing he's wanting to do. Hope that helps!
