I went on a 90 minute horseback ride with lunch. The lunch was a dry sandwich, a bag of chips, and a warm bottle of water. The ride itself was great. We were taken on hills going up and down and through the mountain--it was absolutely beautiful! However, the staff were not very friendly. One of the female ranchhands, was...

I bought the living social deal for the 2 nights in a cabin ($105) for a weekend trip from Denver. I read the reviews here on TripAdvisor 2 nights before coming and briefly considered cancelling due to some of the experiences people wrote about! But we were glad we went. The front desk was not overly friendly nor informative, but...

I was delighted to find a beautiful deep original clawfoot tub in my bathroom! The staff was more than accomodating and I loved the rustic and charm of the lodge. I was very happy with my stay! So much history!

Gina, The staff at the Elkhorn Lodge and Guest Ranch are appreciative of your compliment as it is our goal to be as accommodating as possible. The history and charm are definitely two great aspects of a visit to our lodge. We have come to notice that many visitors to our lodge take full advantage of our antique clawfoot tubs...

We stayed at the Elkhorn Lodge and enjoyed a great experience. The lodge was built in 1874 and is quaint, relaxing and truly a step back in time to the old West. We had a wonderful view of Old Man Mountain. We found the staff to be courteous and helpful. Our room was clean and we enjoyed a private upstairs...

As a frequent traveler, I am accustomed to five-star rated hotels and restaurants. I have stayed at the Stanley in Estes several times -- in the typically tiny rooms of hotels of that era. However, if you are looking for five-star accommodations, this place is not for you. However, as one of the oldest structures in the state of Colorado,...

We stayed two nights as a Living Social deal, and were in the lodge. The place may be historic, but to us it is just plain old and run-down. The LS verbage indicated that renovations had recently been accomplished, but we saw no evidence of it. Our room had a formerly white carpet that had multiple stains to add to...

We stayed in Cottage C for four nights with an inexpensive upgrade on the Living Social deal. We had a porch, two rooms and a bathroom for our family of four. One room had two queen beds. The other had one. Outlets were two pronged and the television wires were tacked over the door and along the baseboards. The cabin...

My family and I stayed in July 2012 and were in shock of the filth. We stayed in the Coach House. The place is a dump. The rooms are dirty, the sheets seemed unsanitary. It is run down, holes are on the walls...just plain nasty.

I too bought the Living Social deal for a 1 hour horseback ride and chuck wagon dinner. It took me 4 days to finally get through to someone at the stables to make a reservation. No answering machine? My husband and I stayed at this place in late June. The buildings on the property are rundown and grossly mismanaged. We came down stairs for breakfast, (which was mediocre but for $7 we weren't expecting much) we saw the lady that supposedly runs it, verbally assaulting her employees right at the front desk. So unprofessional and in general it...
