My wife and I went to visit Rocky Mountain national Park and desired a rustic place near to the entrance with the feel of old days! We found it here. If you want modern this is not the place, if you want comfort, friendly staff and great views, this is the spot!!!! From the originally furnished lobby to the esoteric...

A lovely, lovely place, but there are a few kinks that need ironing out. In particular, out booking was lost but the (admittedly nice) ladies at the front desk, requiring a lot of fiddling around to sort us out. There was no breakfast on offer, either, and the car park was full at night when we returned from dinner. Otherwise,...

The hotel had a neat location with some deer hanging around. The room needed some serious updating. Green dirty carpet, if you opened front door all the way it would literally hit the ceiling fan, cable tv worked some of the time and no cleaning service. Definitely not 5 star - the true rustic experience. Its a so-so stay at...

At Historic Crags at the Golden Eagle Resort, customer satisfaction is something that we take very seriously and would never compromise under any circumstances. This 102 year old resort is in the midst of a room renovation program that includes new TV’s in living rooms and all bedrooms, new case goods, carpeting and window treatments. As we are primarily a...

A bit more rustic than I expected. There was no daily maid service, no A/C (which wasn't a problem even in July) and the décor? and building condition was rather basic and could have used some sprucing up. The first floor rooms were very exposed to the walkway and when you put down the blinds for privacy you shut off...

We stayed at the Historic Crags Lodge during a 5 day hiking trip around Rocky Mountain National Park. From check-in to check-out we felt more than welcomed and enjoyed every min of our stay. The staff: Every person we encountered throughout our stay was very warm and welcoming. Any question we had was awnswered way beyond what we could have...

My husband and I recently stayed at the Historic Crags. The price as a great deal and the location was nice because it was on the side of a hill away from the business of town. The hotel doesn't have air-conditioning and the room was miserably hot. I understand that it was late July, but it was awful. Cold shower...

Stayed here in June 2016 and had a nice room with a back porch area and great view. The restaraunt inside the inn was not good, expensive and simply disappointing (but also very lovely views of the mountains).

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the nice views from your room of the mountains. Our hope is that you are able to find other restaurant amenities in the area that suite your preference, in the future. We look forward to your next visit with us at one of our great resorts.

This is part of the Diamond Resorts portfolio and is not up to the standard expected from them. The carpet in the room we had was badly stained in numerous places with what looked like bleach. The lack of aircon was a big disadvantage. As per most Diamond Resorts properties you need a car to dine outside the hotel. Would not...

My friend has a time share here and invited me along. The hospitality was on point! Rooms were nice and comfy. If you happen to use the pull out bed, just know that they are really hard! The fridge in the room is just a small dorm fridge and for some reason there aren't many electrical outlets in the kitchen...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The lodge is ideally located in the heart of Estes Park on the north side of Prospect Mountain and only minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. Breathtaking mountain views surround you making this the prefect location for your mountain wedding. The landscape of Rocky Mountain National Park is the steepest in the United States. Sixty mountain peaks over 12,000 feet high result in world-renown scenery and provide challenges for hikers and climbers. The extreme topography creates an amazing range of ecological zones within a short distance, similar to the changes that would be seen in a drive from Denver to northern Alaska. ... more   less
