Great independent traveler's motel, built out of one giant redwood. When checking in, ask out it and they'll show you pictures of how the redwood had to be cut up into parts for transport. Each room is very large, which is a delight from the cramped chain-motel rooms. The rooms are angled in such a way that it gives a...

This place may not have modern amenities but it has charm. The rooms are clean, staff is super friendly and a joy to work with. The rooms are made from the wood from the forest. Just across from the harbor. Restaurant is in walking distance. We enjoyed our visit. I think you will too. Most important your dollars support a...

Adorable 1950s travel lodge built from 1 curly Redwood tree. The rooms are big, clean and have wifi. Close to restaurants and the water and right off 101. Ask the owner for info on food and she'll hand you a whole binder of menus.

This hotel was built entirely with the wood from a single redwood tree. It was probably built in the fifties (or maybe earlier) and really fits the typical "Motel" layout of that time. If you like quirky, quaint places this is kind of fun for one night - but don't expect "modern" type lodgings. The rooms are small, the bathrooms...

Showed up late and the room was very clean but cold. Heater took over 5 hours to get the room to a barely comfortable temperature. I set it to 85 just to get it thawed out and it NEVER made it past 70. I actually had to sleep on the floor next to the heater just to stay warm. I...

I’m the one you spoke with the morning you checked out. You made no effort to contact us after you had checked in. That’s what we are here for, extra blanket, check the heater out or any other issue. Not when you are checking out and asking for a refund. After listening to your complaint that morning I went right...

Older hotel with a great backstory! Clean, large room with easy parking and good wifi. Best value on our trip so far. Close to numerous restaurants and across from the picturesque working harbour. We didn't have a reservation so the room was cold when we got there, but the climate control worked great.

Our room was very clean and the service was excellent! The employees were helpful and friendly. The motel is right across from harbor, centrally located with several fine restaurants within walking distance. You are able to park right next to the front door of your room if you're on the first floor. I'm looking forward to my next visit to...

Rooms are huge - furnishings were first rate and comfortable. The under cover parking was unique and kinda nice to have since it does occasionally drizzle some around there. Great location for access to Jedidiah Smith's Howland Hill Road and not so far to Prairie Creek Redwoods, which was my reason for being there. I would stay there again in...

This motel is a great place to see the results of what 1redtree can make with a retro feel from the 70's. The beds are not top of the line and the towels are a little thin but the price made up for any short coming. Make sure to spend a little time at the lobby and get the history...

The rooms are nothing more than average, perhaps with more vintage charm. The building however is something else. Built by one single redwood tree it was truly one of the coolest places I have ever seen.
