We stayed at the Monterey for 3 nights. It is an older motel, but it is very well maintained. For non-smokers only....a big plus. Bathroom was fine, bed was comfy, place was quite clean, all the conveniences of more modern motels, and the location was excellent---close to most of the major Albuquerque attractions. Price was right too. When we return...

We stayed at this delightful motel for two nights. This is a classic motel that is non smoking and no pets. The motel is on Route 66 and a short stroll to the Old Town ,which is a must to see. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the towels are soft and thicker than many other more popular motels. Although...

Situated on Route 66 just a few minutes walk from Albuquerque old town and Plaza. It is a classic traditional motel but clean and well maintained. Our room boasted a ceiling fan as well as an air-con unit. The free WiFi was strong and fast. Rooms have a refrigerator and there is a communal laundry. The pool was clean and...

Lovely motel right on route 66, there are many route 66 motels on this road out of Albuquerque, most closed or seen better days. This one is immaculate and beautifully restored, the rooms though not large are immaculate too. The location can't be bettered either, just over the road from the old town. Don't miss this motel, especially if you...

Just checking out today of this very nice motel and I would recommend it to anyone traveling Route 66. The people are very friendly, helpful and the room was spotless. It is a classic Route 66 motel that has been maintained beautifully. Comfortable bed, crisp sheets, refrigerator, coffee in room and has guest laundry facilities. The pool is a bonus!...

The Monterey is a great vintage motel which is more than just another motel. Rooms are well kept and furnished with "real" lighting instead of the usual "cheap" motel lighting - along with amenities such as fridge, real glass cups and glasses to drink out of, and very comfortable beds - plus an outdoor pool. And conveniently located to most...

It's old fashioned but in the good way. We loved the whole feeling, the room was roomy with a dining table and fridge (no microwave in our room), and it was spotless. We liked the colorful bed sheet (that's a change) and we absolutely loved the organic shower gel, shampoo and lotion. We weren't expecting that kind of product in...

Stayed here for 6 days -- our third time in three years. The Monterey is tops -- clean, comfortable, great service and top-notch hospitality. The owners are a European couple who always greet you with a smile and are quick to help out with anything you need -- from fresh towels, to travel tips to help mailing a letter. They...

My son and I stayed here one night while traveling Route 66, it was spotless. The decor is dated, but in excellent shape. I walked into the room and there was none of that musty or damp odor/ feel. It has everything you need, plus a small treat waiting for us on the table. The beds were very comfortable. The...

This motel really was a pleasure to visit. From arrival at reception until we left, we found the motel and the owners a perfect combination. The owners were welcoming and helpful, pointing us in the right direction to take in the local area. The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated in an almost retro sort of way, that worked wonderfully....
