I recently had the opportunity to stay at the mansion in Petersburg, Va. It could be so much better. This lovely B&B needs a lot of TLC. I know that it takes a lot to restore these old homes. I understand that things are slowly being done. It may draw more people if it showed better. Our host was very...

Wanting to visit the Virginia Museum of Fine Art in Richmond during a long drive from NY to NC I needed to book an overnight stop. I was delighted to discover the Ragland Mansion, just 30 minutes from downtown Richmond, feeling it would provide me the opportunity to experience something "different" and indeed it did! Different and wonderful! Kim met...

Claudia, ever so charming and friendly, shares her lovely home with her guests. It is spotless and clean. Very charming and full of Civil War information. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. Would stay again with her as you feel like you are her personal guests and friends.

This place is so great. this was my wife's first time at a B&B and she loved it. So much better than any hotel in the area. We both agreed that we will be staying there again when we return next month.

We enjoyed our stay at Ragland Mansion. We were seeking a break from modern hotel/resort rooms and this place fit the bill perfectly. Great hospitality from owner Claudia, and visiting historic areas downtown (very nearby) an added benefit. HIghly recommended.

We arrived in Petersburg and went to the now closed visitors' centre. They recommended Ragland Mansion and called Claudia. She was waiting for us when we drove over, welcomed us and showed us to the library room. We had planned to stay for 1 or 2 days but ended up staying for 4! It was a very hot spell and...

We came to Petersburg to visit Civil War battle sites and museums. This is a beautiful inn with a most gracious host. We were very, very happy that we chose to stay here. The inn is very large with beautiful rooms, a lovely patio, and exquisite common areas. The innkeeper, Ms. Bezaka is a lovely person and a pleasure to...

Looking for an overnight stop between Myrtle Beach and Baltimore, we decided on Petersburg due to its location and civil war history. The Mansion is a charming 1850’s building built by a wealthy merchant - and it shows in the opulent construction detail. Our room was huge, the ‘to order’ breakfast was delicious and Claudia, the owner/innkeeper, could not have...

I stayed here with a friend as a mid-point stop on a business trip. We are authors and were traveling to a library convention. Being artsy-types we were hoping for something a little different, and we got it! What a wonderful place to stay! The place could use a little renovation in the main rooms due to some damage to...
