Great location in downtown SLC. Very safe area with lots of restaurants. Parking was convenient. Staff were great. Always had two people at the front desk. Check in and check out was easy. Rooms were spacious and clean. Very comfortable beds and efficient room layout. Breakfast was great. Highly recommended!

This was my first stay at this hotel in 2 years. It’s my “go to” lodging when I go to the Salt Lake City area for skiing, primarily because of it’s location. I found all the staff (that I encountered) very friendly, the parking is easy to get to and nearby, breakfast was very good, despite being a pre-bagged “grab and go” (kitchen does a nice job with this.) When I mentioned to the front desk clerk that I had plans to go to Squatter’s Brewery for dinner he gave me a coupon for 10% off. The room was comfortable and spacious with good wifi reception, a Keurig coffee maker, a fridge and microwave. My only complaint is the bed.....this is probably the worst mattress I’ve slept on...and I’ve slept on a lot in my 15 years as an airline pilot. The bed had very little support and one can feel the springs very easily through the material. An upgrade to these mattresses is definitely in order! Otherwise..great stay. I’m sure I’ll be back next time I go out to go skiing.

We stayed here one night during COVID-19. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were VERY clean and modern, and the location was centralized. I would 100% stay here again. Breakfast came in a bag, but lots of offerings. The room itself was very roomy, surprisingly modern with a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. The location is very close to downtown, restaurants, shopping, and the temple. The room and parking also felt very safe and secure.

We were coming off of a long trip from a funeral and wanted to be able to check in early so we could rest when we arrived in SLC. We called over 24 hours in advance to ask if we could get an early check in at noon. After confirming we are IHG rewards members, we were told that would be fine.

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were told our room wouldn't be ready until 12:30. We had to go to a parking garage down the street to wait since we couldn't park at the hotel because we were not guests yet. We returned at 12:30, and Nate (apparently the manager on duty) at the front desk informed us our room still wasn't ready. I told him we had called a day ago and were promised a 12:00 check in. His reply was that whoever promised us that shouldn't have because it's not allowed, and we would just have to keep checking back in with him to see if the room was ready. He did not apologize at all for the miscommunication, offer to call us to let us know when the room was ready, or make any attempt to expedite our check in. I'm not sure how we were supposed to keep checking with him to see if our room was ready when we couldn't park at the hotel, and we had to go back to the parking garage on a different street to continue waiting for our room.

We called IHG complaints while waiting in the parking garage the 2nd time, and talked to someone who confirmed that they don't offer early check in so we never should have been promised it. We said that was fine as long as we had been informed of that when we called to ask the day before instead of being assured it was fine and then showing up exhausted expecting a room. After that the complaint department called Nate and told him to call us when a room was ready, which somehow then magically happened within 10 minutes.Upon returning to the hotel, Nate did a 180 and was suddenly very nice and apologetic. We ended up getting our room about 1 hour before check in.

We were given a case number for our IHG complaint when we made it. A couple weeks after returning from our stay we received a message asking about our stay, so my husband called and asked about our case number since we never heard anything about it again. We were informed that our case number was marked as resolved, and that it showed that we didn't stay at the hotel and that we were completely refunded our stay with no penalties which is completely false. We paid full price for the room and stayed there, we were simply comped the $13 parking fee by newly apologetic Nate who then apparently lied to corporate IHG about what happened.

We have stayed at IHG hotels all over the US and in other countries as well and never had such a disappointing experience.

Honestly this would have been a 4 star review until the last night. We came back after a night out to discover there was no parking available. I went to the front desk and was pretty much told our options were street parking and if that was full you had to pay $15.00 to stay in a public lot. So not only did we have to walk a block from our vehicle to our room we had to pay $15 to park for the night. What kind of hotel doesn’t have enough parking for guests?

We could hear the drunks coming by our room at 2am and anytime anyone walks by. we were less than impressed with the pillows, two incredibly flat ones.

We won’t be staying here again.

Hi Q4317IOjudyw, Thank you for taking the time to let us know about how your stay was at our hotel. We offer a seamless hotel experience to all of our guests. I am sorry we could not achieve our goal on this day due to the issues with the availability of the parking area, noise levels, and condition of the pillows. We do our best to maintain high standards and continuously strive to improve our lodging experience. I have shared this with our hotel management team to check on certain lapses that need attention to ensure this does not happen again. You are our most valued guest, and we look forward to hosting you again to show you that your unsatisfactory stay was an exception. Warmest regards, Zel N. Case Manager IHGService

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. The location is helpful for visits at Temple Square and the State Capitol. It is helpful that parking is free and it was always available when we needed it. The hotel was clean and the buffet breakfast was OK with the usual hotel selections.

My major problem was with the AC. The controls on the unit itself were disabled and one could set the temperature from a thermostat. The min temperature it allowed was 64 F and the function for continuous fan was disabled. This meant that the unit kept turning on and off during the night making a lot of noise. After it turned off, the temperature went 4-5 degrees above what was set to and I kept waking up sweating and due to the noise. I reported to the staff and was told that others reported this too...

The staff didn't seem to care too much about the guests. The tub was clogged (the cleaning staff should have reported this), but they took care of it after we called.

If the AC would have had all of the usual features enabled, I would have rated the hotel higher. But sleep in a clean and quiet environment is the most important thing for me at a hotel and that was not satisfactory.

Hi suzannaPortland, Thank you for choosing to stay with us and sharing your feedback. I trust that all is well. Providing comfortable accommodation is all that we aim for, and I am thrilled that our great location, comfortable bed, clean and upgraded room helped you in getting such. I'm sorry, however, to make you feel uneasy with the issue with the air conditioning and the tub's condition was a letdown. I also understand your dissatisfaction with the service received from our staff. The feedback of our guests is relevant to us, as it shows our areas of opportunity. Trust that I have brought this to our management's attention. I know they appreciate your thoughts, and I am confident they will take appropriate steps to address these issues. I am hopeful for another opportunity to welcome you back for an improved experience. Safe travels, Glaiza G. Case Manager IHGService

Overall it was a nice stay. The pool & hot tub were were good size. Breakfast was decent and had more options than anticipated. The workers were kind. Great location. They have a small shop where you can buy treats & other items which costs about the same as a gas station.

The toilet/bathtub was separated by a sliding door and the lock didn't work. The carpet in our room could have used a good cleaning and a light bulb was missing from once wall sconce.

Dishonest hotel, claiming they have not received a booking.com reservation... to propose you the same room charging 20% more on the same day.
confirmed reservation, even confirmed directly to them by phone and email by booking.com

1 hour waiting time, without any special attention for a 6 month pregnant woman.

We stayed here for a national competition since this is one of the Hotels that was sanctioned by the organizers.

The lack of service was just apparent from checkin all the way to everyday interaction.

When we checked-in, I already felt the lack of appreciation for their guests as I never felt welcome from the get go. I was not acknowledge about being an IHG rewards member and welcomed at the Hotel. I must add though that when buying things in their marketplace, the interaction of charging our things with the front desk was fast and seamless so that is a positive. Also leading to our stay, I did have phone interaction with some of their staff for my reservation and they have been very helpful and accommodating so was surprised with my current experience here.

There are no safebox to store some of your valuables and when I asked the front desk I was just told they have none in a lazy way without effort of providing alternatives or if they can help in any other way.

Our first day, they locked breakfast area right at 9:30 sharp without letting the people already eating that they are closing. When we inquired with one of the staff, they replied in a kind of a rude way that "when its close, its closed". I could understand the policy but they would not even hear about suggestion of simply announcing that they are closing the breakfast area for last call so people could have a chance to get their last servings if needed.

They also literally, close off the breakfast area while people are still eating almost like telling everyone to get out. I think this shows lack of service and professionalism with no empathy to their guests. it does look like they treat their guests as like burglars to close/lock off their breakfast area.

For rooms, the area is a little bit smaller compared to some area hotels but typical of a Holiday Inn property so no complains there. Our rooms did not have issue(so far fingers crossed) but a lot of people in our group had room issues. Some have their locks not working after checkins and they have to work on fixing them and someone from our group was given a room that was still occupied.

They have 2 gyms in different floors but smaller compared to other gyms from different hotels. They have a sauna and a pool so another positive.

I am still checked in and staying for 5 more days so will update the review later but If not for our team choosing to stay on this Hotel I would have checked out and moved to Hilton across the street where we have a very positive experience a few years ago with the same competition.

My husband and I stayed here for one night prior to driving to Yellowstone. We were warmly welcomed by the front desk, which set the tone for our stay. The room was large, modern, and very clean. There was a comfortable chaise for reading by the window. I liked that there were shelves to put your suitcase. The bathroom was well lit. An alcove outside the bathroom included fridge, microwave, and Keurig machine. It was very hot while we were there and the a/c worked quietly and flawlessly. In this COVID time, we were provided "breakfast in a bag," which included a hot breakfast sandwich and a few other items, together with coffee.

The location is excellent. We enjoyed walking to Temple Square and absorbing the history there.

All in all, an excellent stay, and we'd certainly stay again if we're in Salt Lake City.
