My wife and I scheduled a long weekend getaway in May 2022 for a celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary. When we arrived the gardens were in beautiful full bloom. At check-in we met Bill, who was a delightful host for our stay. It was a welcome change from the "contactless check-ins" we had experienced during the Covid-19 "avoid people at all costs" protocols for travel. Linda was out of town so we will have to meet here the next time we stay there. The breakfasts were delicious and the conversations with Bill were highly interesting and entertaining ! Bill was also very helpful in guiding us to check out the local points of interest. One morning, while we were sitting on a bench in the gardens about 20 feet from the cliffs, a huge bald eagle, soaring parallel to the cliff face and just above the level of the garden lawn, silently glided by us ! We have never been that close to such a large and beautiful eagle ! Another day in the gardens, we watched a pilot of a biplane doing acrobatic maneuvers over the ocean for over an hour. Best free airshow ever ! Our dinner at the Oak Table Café in nearby Sequim was fabulous ! We hiked on the spit of Ediz Hook Park and checked out the local bird sanctuary. We drove out to Lake Crescent and hiked on some of the trails there and finished with a meal at the Lake Crescent Lodge. The location of the Sea Cliff Gardens was perfect. The local beaches and restaurants were wonderful. We could not have had a better time. We highly recommend Sea Cliff Gardens for a refreshing and rejuvenating stay . It was love at first sight as we walked down the cobblestone path to the welcoming front porch of Sea Cliff Gardens. Instead of a soulless modern hotel, we entered what felt like a well loved family home. Sea Cliff Gardens has warmth and character … something we crave in a world spinning out of control. Freshly baked cookies in the afternoon, a dish of chocolates by the door, a beautifully set breakfast table. And the gardens! Even in early autumn they were a riot of color framing the Strait of Juan de Fuca. And most important of all, Laura and Bill were kind and attentive innkeepers.
This B&B is wonderful! Luxurious accommodations down to the finest detail. When I booked, I was concerned that they didn't have access to the shoreline, but what I got instead was a magnificent view of the ocean from their bluff. We spent hours on their private, secluded garden bluff watching cargo ships, cruise liners, biplane acrobatics, fighter planes in formation, and the ocean. We had 17 VERY close sightings of eagles flying past us. It created a truly unique memory for us. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful spot! Immaculately clean, gracious hosts with terrific recommendations, delicious breakfast and comfortable beds. The location is convenient and view to the ocean is magnificent. Perfect stop when visiting the Olympic Peninsula.
What an unbelievable place! I started crying when we got to the room and saw how beautiful it was and took in the view of the gardens and the sea. We enjoyed being there so much. Bill and Laura have literally thought of everything – it is so comfortable and perfectly done. And the gardens? I have never seen anything like it. Breathtaking. Breakfast? Delicious and I am not a breakfast person. I have not eaten on such beautiful dishes in a very long time. It was special. I HIGHLY recommend you stay there if your in the area - but it's worth a special trip as well.
Sea Cliff Gardens is located in an absolutely beautiful setting, has incredibly comfortable rooms, and offers delicious breakfasts. To top it all off, the owner, Bill, treats you like genuine friends and makes your vacation extra special. This is one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at and hope to be back! Don’t hesitate and just book, you won’t regret it!
Just do it. We spent two nights at the Sea Cliff during a road trip along the Washington and Oregon coasts. In short, the Sea Cliff is everything that I had hoped it would be as a romantic getaway. While I often think of a romantic B&B as being in an historic older house, the Sea Cliff is a newer home (2000’s). Yet, because it was originally designed as a B&B, the designer was able to make the inn feel very comfortable. The quality of craftsmanship is evident everywhere including the moldings and woodwork, the stained glass, the expensive doors and windows, the antique furnishings and the view of each suite out to the sea. And, of course, the gardens. We stayed in the Ludwig suite which was large with the big jetted tub in the bedroom. The antique bedroom pieces (bed, end tables and marble table/dresser) were a matching set and the other furnishings created a great atmosphere. The room was immaculate. The current innkeeper provided excellent communication and advice for our trip. Breakfast was delicious and we were able to choose our own breakfast time. The inn had an interesting mix of wall art, books and photos as well as lots of thoughtful extras such as playing cards, extra outlets, binoculars to watch passing ships, a DVD library, chairs near the cliff for relaxing, and information the national park hikes. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The gardens were as beautiful as they appear in the photos and we spent some time each day wandering in them. The best part was the large picture window in each room looking over the garden to the sea. We spent a lot of time sitting in the two comfortable chairs looking out the window and relaxing. While we are unlikely to be in this part of the country again soon, we would love staying here again if the opportunity arose. Definitely worth the effort and price.…
Bill and Laura were wonderful hosts during our 5 day stay. We had our very own mini-Butchart Gardens right outside our window and back door! Their tips on where and what we might like to explore were very helpful and spot on. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in Port Angeles and Sequim!
Bill and Laura have put together one of the best B&B experiences we've ever had. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. Breakfasts were unique and we enjoyed our morning conversations with Bill, a most interesting innkeeper whom is especially knowledgeable of the area and helped guide our activities during our stay. Would absolutely stay here again.
We stayed in 'Victoria's Repose' room to celebrate our 41st anniversary. We had a relaxing hot tub on our private deck overlooking the expansive back yard. Looking at the starry sky was a great way to end our day! We enjoyed a gourmet breakfast compliments of our host, Bill-- spinach and mushroom omelets, pecan/banana waffles, bacon, a fruit bowl, juice, coffee, and tea. What more could you ask for?! Bill even stayed to chat with us, at our invitation. A thoroughly enjoyable visit. We would definitely go again!
