booked a room around $180 at the end of August, the lowest quality of motel: very small room, facility in the room tiny and cheap such as microwave, night stand, toilet, shower supply, especially the bed sheet is so thin and see through that looks like it's used many years, location is quite noisy. strongly recommend avoiding this motel if the motel is over $80
This hotel is good for what you pay for. The rooms are very clean and cozy inside. It was great for a solo traveler. The parking lot was a little tight, but they did offer free parking at least. Bed was comfy.
The a/c worked fine, everything very clean. There was a refrigerator that you should note needs to be turned on as soon as you get there. I put things in the freezer for about 20 min then cool enough to use the fridge. Not enough lighting with curtains closed. The sidewalk to stairs and other rooms was right there. This room needs a light on the other side of the bed. I found the bed very comfortable and wifi good. No complaints whatsoever; would stay there again if visiting Port Angeles area.
My husband and I stayed at the Aircrest Motel while on a hiking trip, heading down the coast. We had a quick check-in and were given a room upstairs, not far from the stairwell. The room was basic but comfortable enough. The temperature control was adequate. The bed was pretty loud and creaky but we were able to sleep just fine. The bathroom was clean but just fine too. The wifi was decent. We paid $109.70, which was ok for a basic room with free parking. We would consider returning for a similar trip.
My family stayed at this motel for 2 nights while visiting the Olympic Peninsula. We chose this motel mainly because it took dogs (at $15 per day) and it had positive reviews regarding its renovated rooms. The rooms were indeed clean and updated as indicated in the motel's website photos. The area around the motel was fairly safe, and I didn't have any concerns walking my dog in the evenings. However, we did have issues with cooling our room using the wall air conditioner. It would only turn on when set to 60F and then it would turn off after about 5 mins. So our room was never cooled down enough even though it was set at 60F. I called the front desk and they only offered to bring us a room fan which would just circulate the warm air in the room. Since the motel had no vacancy we had no option but to stay in this assigned room. The hotel is also on Front St which is a very busy highway (US-101) and you can hear cars all day and night from within our room. Pros: * Takes dogs at $15 per night. * Renovated room. Clean. * Usable microwave, mini-fridge, and Keurig Coffee Maker. * Free WiFi (speed was measured at 8.6 mbps down, 3 mbps up). * About a 1 mile walk to the Port Angeles Wharf. * Walgreens and restaurant/coffee shops nearby. Cons: * Very expensive room rates for peak summer ($250 per night) for what you get. * Very low water pressure for the shower head. * Wall air conditioner shut off prematurely before cooling the room. * Located in an industrial section of town, next to a noisy freeway road. * No ironing board or iron in the room. In hindsight, I would have booked a room at the Red Lion instead of the Aircrest. Paying a little more to have a hotel room by the water with a view and cooler breeze would have been worth it.…
Pro’s: - Close to Olympic National Park - In room Keurig - Towels were plentiful - Small desk - Basic cable - Clean and tidy (except for the long hair stuck to the wall in the shower) - Quiet bathroom fan Con’s: - Hard mattresses - Hard pillows - High, constant level of street noise during the night - A/C unit not functioning properly (manager said to always leave it on 60). Couldn’t keep room below 80. - Drapes didn’t block out the light - Super low water pressure. - Very small bathroom (width of one average size person) - Very small sink area. - $219/night before taxes for a Thursday and Friday night We don’t require much. We like a nice, cool, quiet room that’s clean, with a comfortable bed in a safe area. This motel will provided a clean room and the area seems safe. If you’re looking for cool and quiet and hard mattresses and pillows aren’t for you, you may want to look elsewhere.…
We used the Aircrest as the first stop on our tour of the Olympic pennisula. This is a very basic motel, rooms are small but clean, WiFi is good, bed was good, flat screen TV was good. There is not much in walking distance, but there are a handful of restaurants close by. We kept it simple and got a pizza and made an early night so we could spend a full day at the national park. Family that runs it were very efficient and friendly.
This hotel was a great value. It is clean newly renovated and centrally located for visiting Olympic National Park. There is a Walgreen across the street. And there is a breakfast and lunch restaurant on the opposite corner called the Chestnut Cotatge that is wonderful.
There are some mixed reviews on here, but I have to say that my parents and I were pleasantly surprised by this 60’s style motel. We’re not picky — all we look for is clean. The outside is shabby and leaves a lot to be desired (the large vintage sign is cool though!) but the room was pretty much spotless, and you could tell it had been disinfected and well cleaned. The rooms have been redone and have a modern-yet-still-60s-vibe. The beds have firm mattresses and comfortable pillows. I suggest bringing your own shampoo though, as the ones available are in small plastic packages (like ketchup at a fast food joint) and can be kind of tricky to open. They also have shaving cream though, which is handy! No breakfast, but tea/coffee in room. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place as it’s good bang for your buck.…
Convenient location with walking distance to good restaurants and Walgreens, clean, comfortable, safe, and wonderful perks like a microwave, refrigerator and freezer, good size Keurig for coffee or adding hot water to a freeze dried meal, and very nice hotel manager who takes care of her customers. After dropping my husband off for a several day backpacking trip, I stayed by myself at Aircrest for a total of 4 nights, and I felt safe enough to leave the big window open while l was up. I was on the 2nd floor. There is a 24 hour video cameras and the manager is available all hours by dialing 0. Location: 20 minute walk or a few minutes from downtown Port Angeles. Across the street are Walgreens (they have Smart Water) and Chestnut Cottage Cafe restaurant for a delicious and filling breakfast or lunch (7 am to 3 pm; they have outdoor seating) and across the street from a Shell gas station At the next block, N. Race St, you can take it to Hurricane Ridge to Hwy 101. You can walk to the 9/11 memorial and the trail by the water. Several other good restaurants in walking distance: Fast Burrito, Gordy's Pizza and Pasta. Rooms have a memory foam mattress which are firm but mold to your body a bit. 2 chairs and a desk. Plenty of hot water and the toilet flushes well. The rooms feature large windows that slide open for fresh air. The windows were open when I entered the room and I appreciate it being aired out between guests. Room was nice and clean. Pantene shampoo, small soaps, and Keurig coffee, creamer and sugar were provided. Tips: A hair dryer can be borrowed at the front desk or towels exchanged. 2nd floor rooms are planned to be remodeled in the Winter. It is better to be on the 2nd floor for the view and so there is no one above you walking on the a squeaky floor. First floor rooms have been remodeled to have the flooring instead of carpet. The manager is really caring. Even though I had a problem with my credit card on Priceline, and she could not get a hold of me because we were traveling, she still very kindly held my room reservation until we arrived at 5:00 pm. She also very nicely answered my questions I had and called her before I arrived. The Aircrest Motel is the best value for your money in terms of everything you get, and I spent hours reading hotel reviews and websites for just about all the Port Angeles hotels. I had a great stay, and I would definitely stay here again.…
