The Western Solomon Islands Province is a fisherman's paradise, but even more, the fish eater's paradise. So many fish around that some restaurants consider fish too common to bother elaborating on their menus. But Zipolo Habu specializes in helping you catch the fish and then eating it. As an example, it is common for them to send out a platter...

Joe and Lisa do a good job maintaining this operation despite the Solomons being off the radar for tourism. Things are sometimes a little casual, true, but this is the Solomons! The combination of good home cooking a la carte with fresh local ingredients usually including crayfish and/or mud crab, is a winner. My fishing group of 4 stayed in...

My background 35 years of fly fishing experience and a fly fishing addict who wanted to have an extra ordinary fly fishing trip, targeting pelagics, trevally, bonefish, milkfish, bass, snapper, etc. I travel 100-110 days per year for business and pleasure and have done fly fishing in Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Thailand on top of fresh water fly fishing all...

Had a short but wonderful stay here over the weekend. The food was on point, the room was amazing and service great. I have stayed in a few places in the Solomon's and I would say this is one of the best places so far. Even got a chance to check out some swell near skull island.

Its been 6 months but looking at my holiday snaps has reminded me to do this. In June 2014 I decided my son (who lives in the UK) and my partner & I (who live in Sydney) should visit the Solomon Islands. We were planning to stay at a resort near Gizo but on the day of travel there, the...

I was here for a week in a group of 4 in May, for our annual fishing getaway. Extraordinary that there are so few tourists to the region, given the spectacular lagoon, reefs and islands. We had a ball. From the fishing point of view, nothing beats seeing surface lures smashed by big GT's, mackerel and coral trout, while the...

Find out how relaxed you really can get on this island. The answer is sooooo relaxed! The views from the Deluxe Bungalows are amazing. The other bungalows are a little further back on the island but still look across the gardens out to the water. The food on the island is really good and if you catch your own fish...

We came here with my sister while she visiting New Zealand. We were really impressed with the deluxe bungalows we stayed for 5 nights and were traveling as a party of 5 three adults and 2 young children. We stayed in the smaller of the two delux bungalows and found it to be very comfortable. There was generator power for...

We took our three young children (8, 5 and 2) to Lola Island from our base in Honiara. It was our son's eighth birthday treat, and after months in Honiara, he'd been excited about coming to Western province to see the real Solomon Islands. We flew into Munda on a large propellor driven plane... pretty stable, and a shortish flight...
