We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ribbonwood. Very comfy bed, lots of brochures and menus for local restaurants etc. We went to Alice Mays for dinner which was an easy choice to make with all the menus in our room. We really loved the large glass sliding door to the private deck off our room...was noce to lay in bed...

Our stay at Ribbonwood would not be better. The B&B and cottage are owned by Julie and Jonathan, two very gracious hosts who greeted us immediately with afternoon tea and wine upon arrival. While there, we benefited from the couple's extensive knowledge about the local area, the glacier, and the native New Zealand plants. While the room and cottage we...

Julie and Jonathan have created an excellent B&B near the Franz Josef glacier. I could not recommend their place enough -- great personalities, generous (a couple of beers and a tea upon arrival), and a superb location. The kids stayed in the main house and my wife and I inhabited the cottage -- try for that if its available as...

The hosts are genuinely concerned about their guests . They cook a excellent breakfast with ingredients / fruits straight from their garden . The rooms are spacious and well equipped . We got numerous tips on what to do in the area , restaurants,... Both our girls felt really at home !

Our hosts, Jo and Julie could not have been friendlier, more welcoming, more helpful and delightfully engaging while still maintaining that wonderful balance between being available & yet still affording us privacy! We would definately recommend staying at...

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay at Ribbonwood Retreat. Our hosts, Julie and Johnathon, were so warm and welcoming, and our room was private and homely. We particularly liked the quietness of the the countryside with cows and mountain views, yet only a few minutes from Franz Josef. The breakfasts were wonderful -- wholesome and nutritious -- with many things...

This was a GREAT place! Very spacious apartment for us which, as I commented to the owner, also reflected great care and attention to detail. We thoroughly enjoyed Julie & Jonathan, wonderful people, open and warm. The place is just outside town, and therefore is quiet and tranquil, The garden is well-landscaped and the location provides easy access both to...

My parents and I really enjoyed our 2 nights at Ribbonwood while staying at Franz Josef. We were booked into the Waiho Suite which is the whole second floor of the house and had 1 huge bedroom, 1 smaller bedroom and a washroom all to ourselves! We arrived quite late in the afternoon after a rainy day and it was...
