Hard to fault. We stayed here on a road trip around the South island. The owner was very welcoming and helpful when we arrived. The place was clean and spacious, beds were comfortable. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Fox glacier or travelling down the West coast.....and the Matthieson lake restaurant for food as well is also...

Lovely new clean room. Nice large bathroom. Good views from the property. Nice position on the road to Lake Matheson. No cooking facilities (if that's what you are looking for). Very close to Matheson Cafe for great meals. Further out along the road away from town are some really great glacier views.

On Cook Flat Road, about 1 km along, we found Hign Peaks Hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful when we booked in. Even suggesting we visit the Fox glacier that afternoon as rain was predicted. The room was very spacious and well appoints. The bathroom well supplied and the hot water - hot. The hotel bed was so comfortable and...

Excellent find of a hotel. Room is large and spotless. Owners are very friendly and it is obvious that they care! A full cooked breakfast for NZ$20 was good value. Good location - Just a short drive to Fox Glacier and about half an hour from Franz Josef. (We went to both glaciers in one day. It's a longer walk...

We received a warm welcome. Our room was located inside. Nice large room with a double and single and table and 2 chairs. Wheelchair access bathroom with shower. Sink and kettle but no toaster, which would have been nice. One thing we really liked was that there was a portable tabletop fan in the cupboard which we used, as even...

We stayed here just one night after our heli-hike. The room was very clean and spacious but it was the owners who really made this a good stay. They went above and beyond to help us out by kindly assisting us when we needed to print some documents and fax them outside the country.

After arriving at reception we received a very warm welcome from Marlene who was very polite and very helpful. We got a great deal on the hotel and lots of free wifi vouchers. She gave us excellent information on what to do around the area and sent us to the best restaurants. This hotel is excellent, great size rooms and...

After a warm welcome from our attentive hosts, we settled into a nice studio unit (#20) with parking right in front. The unit is one of the smaller units (although the bathroom is quite large) but just fine for us. It has coffee& tea making facilities and a cooler type fridge but no cooking facilities. Food may be stored in...

We stayed for 2 nights to go on the Fox Glacier Heli-Hike. Marlene made us feel welcome straight away and gave us plenty of information about the area including local restaurants. Unfortunately, when we booked the room the bar and restaurant were open but due to under-use they are no longer used except for breakfast. The room was spacious, well...

This motel is a short drive out of town. When arriving it has a great view of Mount Cook and Mount Tasman, you can see the view on the web cam of NZ. The room was very comfortable and quite. Access is via doors at either end of the building plenty of parking.
