After a long day of travelling from Kaiteriteri, our car broke down near Fox. We spent an hour contacting all accomodation providers in the area. However, as it was Easter Sunday, there were no vacancies. Finally, Aman, the manager at High Peaks Hotel, was able to offer us the last available room at a very reasonable rate. Aman was extremely...

Our overnight stay at High Peaks was completely disappointing. It was one of the priciest places we stayed during our tour of NZ and truly not worth the money. The rooms were adequate but had no air-con and ours backed onto a noisy adjacent yard. As it is a good way out of town we ate in the restaurant and...

The good aspects of this place are that it is a very pleasant looking site (really a motel) clean and well laid out. There are great views of the peaks and friendly staff. However, as posters have already said the wifi is hopeless, the surcharges are unjustifiable. If you pay by card in the restaurant you don't get a surcharge...

Stayed for one night during South Island tour. Very well finished rooms. Clean, modern and with comfortable bed. It;s laid out like a motel but the rooms don't have microwave / hob / plates etc. (although there is a small fridge). It;s about 20 mins to walk into the town centre along a dead straight, quiet road. A good place...

The owners were incredibly attentive and nice, the room was spotless, and the bathroom was very roomy. It was also nice being able to park the car right outside the room. All in all, a very comfortable place to spend a couple of days or more.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Fox Glacier. Glacier itself was brilliant. Had dinner on first night in hotel and the chef, Crystal, came out to find out how it was. The truth is, dinner was great, but portions are so large. Crystal took us out back to meet her daughter Monique and dog, Pippi who live on site...

We had a 2 night stay here and it was fine. It looks as though it has recently been refurbished and was all spotlessly clean. Our room was a good size as was the bathroom and guest laundry. It seemed to be a family run business and the manager seemed to be very helpful, they provided a mini bus to...

This hotel is nice and quiet and just want you need after a long journey. We had a nice big room near reception and the owners were lovely. They answered all our questions and directed us where to go the follow day on our road trip. The tv is super dated so hopefully if we are back in town again...
