We were very happy to find this place at the very last minute! Because we were not prepared to stay here, we didn't have enough food for the dinner and breakfast. Plus the closest town for the market was 50km away. The host lady kindly provided the patties she made for very good price and I have to say they... More

Stayed at Lake Paringa Lodge this weekend while on a photography trip. Ken was as friendly as usual and the room comfy. This must be one of the most peaceful and scenic places to stay on the West Coast. The units are a bit more basic that what you'd expect in a big city and there is no TV as... More

I stayed in Lake Paringa Lodge with my partner during our trip around New Zealand. We used a self contained cabin. It was very clean and the beds were very confortable. The kitchen was fully equiped and the bathroom was good. In the common room in the main house there is Sky TV (with all the extras!), a big kitchen... More

My husband and I got into a car accident and we drove in the rain trying to find help/loding. We finally chance upon Lake Paringa Lodge - but the host told us it was full for the night!! We explained our situation to him and he offered us the spare guestroom. It was a clean, simple room - a heater,... More

We stayed here one night in studio. Accommodation is basic, but everything is in place as expected. kitchnette equipments were old and tired, the main is, it was cold and damp. Heating facilities are not good. But the location is beautiful, kind of staying in wilderness, there is no nearby town or shops , so its mandatory that we either... More

Basic accomodation, but the price reflects that and that is what your expectation should be. What a stunning location. They have built a T shaped jetty into the Lake edge and we sat there with some wine, heaven. The owners are very helpful, the place is very peaceful. Stock up on food before you get there as it is wonderfuly... More

My sister and I stayed at Lake Paringa Lodge for one night on a road trip from Queenstown up the West Coast, as we had decided that we could manage to aim beyond Haast, but didn't want to arrive in Fox Glacier late in the day, so this seemed to be the ideal half-way point between Haast and Fox. I... More

We stayed for 3 nights and it was everything we wanted. We had 2 adjoining units with 2 doubles and a single bed in each between 2 adults and 3 kids. 1 kitchen and 2 bathrooms were more than enough. The units were clean, tidy and simple. The grounds are nicely kept and the backdrop of the lake is beautiful,... More

What a beautiful location to recharge the batteries and partake in some fly fishing ! This Lodge ain't the Hilton, but what it lacks in creature comforts it more than makes up for in good old fashioned charm and serenity. Very clean, very tidy, the units are very roomy and the beds comfortable...and oh so quiet ! Set right on... More

“It all depends on your budget. The location is stunning and the price is budget. If you want comfort the motel-style units are great or if you are travelling on a tight budget the smaller units with bunk beds and bring your own bedding are fine too.”
