Stayed here for just one night as part of an AAT Kings tour of New Zealand. Basic motel accomodation: bedroom, restaurant and facilities adequate but nothing special. Seems to be mainly used by coach tours. On-site laundry room for guest use.

Very good tourist hotel, well-patronised by bus tours. Had ground floor room facing the street - quiet at night. Perfectly adequate for an overnight stop, good sized room, clean and well-presented. (Maybe room 74 has been renovated?) Buffet meal is very good value at $30 including soup and desert - plenty of choice. Restaurant manager looked after independent travellers, to...

Perfectly adequate for an overnight stop Could do with a face lift in most areas Evening Buffett very good but serving drinks from the bar was very poor and slow Good breakfast and very good coffee Not much around but good for walks and night star gazing as there is little light pollution

Heritage Gateway Hotel sounds am impressive place to stay. Although not impressive we found our room to be quite spacious and clean. The hotel did have a laundry room which was an asset. Omarama is quite a small place with few places to stay. Rather than call this a hotel we would rate this as a perfectly acceptable motel.

Very outdated accommodation. Dirty carpet and the shower was dirty. Was rudely awaken by house keeping at 7am dragging there trolleys around on a Sunday morning. Won't be back unless some upgrading was done to the rooms.

The photos of this hotel looked much nicer online than it did in reality. Our room was small with low lighting. The bathroom fan was broken as it rattled a lot and all through the night disturbing our sleep - we didn't bring this up as we were only staying for one night, however if we were planning on staying...

Stayed one night on a New Zealand Tour. Hotel in need of an upgrade. Was fairly clean and the staff helpful. I had a very large room, upper level, with a not very spectacular view of the grounds--Room 115. Room had a balcony but would not consider it "private". Hotel dated but not "quaint". Not many travelers and the hotel...
