We found this accomodation very disappointing, and hugely overpriced! The room was very old. The window was broken and wouldn't shut, therefore open to the south. Needless to say the room was very cold and had no heating. Luckily we had an electric blanket although could only have one side on at a time because there was only one power...

My partner has stayed here on a few occasions for work (he is a lorry driver), so this was our last stop before heading home. We were to be the only house guests, it is a very old pub, the floors squeak, our door didn't lock but it all added to the rustic environment. The facilities were clean and tidy...

I came here on Sunday when they were having a hunters annual competition. There were all sorts of animals that had been caught, stacked up against the fencing for judging. It was really busy and made for a great atmosphere! A great idea for the local community and others to get together. There were people of all ages and the...

interesting local pub with real locals who get their hands dirty woring and not just a bunch of tourists. They enjoyed their rugby and each group were a bit noisy and boisterous but they were real – place was a credit which facilitated it. Every credit.

I had the experience of staying in the Omarama Hotel recently. I use the word 'experience' wisely. The hotel is centrally located in Omarama which is a great base for exploring this part of New Zealand. The hotel is located on the junction of two State Highways, so all seemed positive. The hotel is quite busy in the evenings and attracts...

I love these country pubs. The locals are chilling out at the bar leaners, there is sport on the big screen and the meals are simple and delicious. I had an enormous blue cod burger and chips and a glass of sauvignon blanc and at the end of 3 days cycling it was wonderful. Its not flash but they do...

We had dinner there after cycling from Lake Ohau. There were 10 of us in the group. I'd booked but 3rd for 6 that night. When arrived we had drinks in the front bar and walked through to the dining room where a table for 10 was ready. The meals were ready in no time and the portions were very...

We decided to watch the rugby at Omarama hotel while on a night away with friends. The staff member behind the bar was unfriendly and told us she might shut because it was too quiet and only smiled when she served one of the few locals that were in the bar. There were about ten people there when we walked...

This is a great place to eat and unwind while taking in the game on the tv, and the wall trophies are amazing, not to mention all the sporting event photo's and honours boards etc. Great food.
