Clean room with bathroom. Good rates and they supplied towels and bedding, which was a plus as we were travelling by motorbike. Owners very friendly and helpful. Was very busy place due to traffic being detour due to earthquake a week earlier at Kaikoura.

Due to closure of highway 1, we drove through Murchinson. And how lucky we did. Charming place, plenty to do but the best find was Lazy Cow. The double ensuite was fantastic. Cozy and funky. Phil and the staff were great. Friendly and welcoming. Hot drinks and cake on arrival. Kitchen, living area and dining room perfect. Although we were on...

I stayed here for two weeks and I must say that this is the coziest hostel I've ever been so far. Very clean and organized. Well supplied kitchen. Free yummy muffin/cake on your arrival. Nice fireplace. Lots of movies to watch. Wonderful deck to hang out and bathroom with a spa tub. The owner Phil and Ali are very accommodating...

The Lazy Cow was awesome. We stayed two nights there in the winter time, which means the place was really quiet, with just one or two other guests in the house. The large stove keeps the place super warm (too warm to my standards, but most people love tropical temperatures) and makes it real cozy to hang out in the...

A great choice for pre OGR accommodation. We took advantage of the OGR package. The meal was fantastic, as was breakfast. Ali and Phil were terrific hosts. Very relaxed and helpful. The accomodation is tidy and clean. Plenty of supplies available in Murchison, well stocked four square across the road.

Happy with our twin ensuite room. Shower was tiny but bathroom was spotless. Nice kitchen facilities and good vibe. Fresh muffins were a nice touch and Phil was friendly. There is an on site cafe for dinner which seemed affordable and good. Really recommend the Natural Flame tour if you are in town. See my review of it separately. Definitely...

Incredibly cosy and friendly backpackers, one of my favourites in all of NZ. Free piece of cake each day and a free beer on arrival for cycle tourers- awesome!! Very clean, great homely feel and the perfect place to unwind and relax. Can't recommend it highly enough, wish I'd stayed longer.

The most friendly hosts! There were free almond and apricot homemade muffins for the guests and they were to die for! Upon arrival we were informed that since we traveled on bikes we are welcomed with a free beer as well. What a pleasant surprise! Very cute accommodation with nice kitchen, equipped with dishes and cookware. Lots of spices and...
