The lodge is ideally suited for an extended stay as the rooms are large, clean, and airy; with a full kitchen. The staff welcomes you like they have known you for years.
Every room has a patio that overlooks the beach and harbor. A person can catch a water taxi into Tairu and its restaurants just below the hotel or hike up to Mt. Paku behind the hotel. Its location is also convenient to many of the main attractions on the Coromandel Peninsula. I would recommend the Paku Lodge to friends.

Family run inn, simple and clean. Perfect location near good food, hiking and other things to do. Room was in great shape and had everything we needed — would recommend for anyone looking for a convenient place to stay while road tripping

We loved our stay at the Paku Lodge. The room was clean and well stocked with everything we could need - including milk for our tea! The view of the bay is wonderful and beach access super easy. We were very comfortable there with our two small children. The pictures don't do it justice. This place is really a gem! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed excellent meals at the Old Mill Cafe and the Paku Beach Club and a stunning hike to the top of Mount Paku.

The manager welcomed us and gave us some milk and cookies on our arrival. We were late arriving due to a flight delay into Auckland. We had a ground floor room which was super. Lots of space and easy walk to the old mill for breakfast each morning. Stunning views from the room over the harbour. They had canoes and bikes for you to use but we did not use them. We drove up the coast to Whitianga and out on a boat along the coast to see cathedral cove and other stunning places. The best way to see the cove. We also went to hot water beach which must not be missed - aim for low tide. The motel lent us a spade.

As mentioned above, this is a great spot to stay. We stayed two nights and would’ve loved to have stayed longer. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the apartment was well appointed and very clean, although a little dated. The free use of the laundry facilities is a great asset. It’s a very pretty spot overlooking the water and it is an easy walk to some lovely little restaurants.

What a lovely place to stay! The Motel is lovely and clean and has all the amenities you need. The staff were great and very helpful. The views out over the harbour from our room were great and sitting out on the balcony enjoying the evening with the sun going down was hard to beat.

A fabulous location right across the road from the beach. We booked 2 rooms and they both had well equipped kitchens and the rooms were very comfortable. Super comfortable beds and ample fluffy pillows for all! The kids had a fabulous time on the Kayaks that were provided. Excellent friendly staff! Would highly recommend 5* from us. We will be back! Best motel I have ever stayed in. Studio apartment was well maintained and spotless. Well equipped kitchen, comfy bed and pillows. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar. Quiet area and all the rooms have a sea view. Loved sitting on the balcony watching the boats go in and out. Staff very friendly and helpful, recommended restaurants to visit which were great. We will definitely return now we have found this gem.

This was our second visit to Paku. We loved our downstairs unit directly over the road from the beach. Rooms always impeccable serviced. Comfy beds and the service was brilliant. Will certainly be going back, thanks for lovely stay.
