My husband and I stayed here one night as a stopping point en-route to Puerto Lopez. We also had dinner at the hotel which was great. I don't remember the name of my dish but it contained shrimp mixed with coconut milk, rice and mashed potatoes. The grounds of the hotel was very interesting and the beach was blissful. My...

This accommodation is located almost at the far north end of the beach. You can walk there in 10min from the busstation or take a $1,50 taxi. Because it is further from the Calle de las coctelles its a quiet place to relax and enjoy a good night sleep. Surf lessons are cheap ($25) and good! ( gracias Carlos) choice...

We stayed in the Balsa Surf Camp during the weekend of Semana Santa. It was a peaceful and lovely and serene getaway during the chaotic holiday weekend. Montanita was absolutely packed, but Balsa Surf Camp was still quiet and enjoyable. We stayed in a really nice room, and our kids completely enjoyed the special "van room" up in the tree-house!...

I stayed here 4 nights and it was the best part of the whole trip. I had a 2nd floor cabana with a nice balcony with a hammock and a breeze. I was able to get up early in the morning, grab a surfboard, and walk right out to a nice clean point break with not too many people. They...

My only downside..? I didn't get to spend more time here but will definitely spend a lot more time here on my next trip to Ecuador. You walk through the entrance and you're brought into an island paradise. The relaxation is almost instantaneous. On January 23-25, I had the pleasure of staying in a private room and it was out...

Located a few minutes walk (on the beach) from the party town at the North end of the beach, I cannot recommend Balsa enough...this is magical place...and I have rarely felt this. Balsa is owned and run by Julie (French) and Rasti (Ecuadorian). The hostel (if you can call it that) is beautiful in every sense of the word. Care...

Stopped by here for three nights to get my surf on and the location couldn't be better. It's literally right across a small dirt road from the beach and the best break in Montanita. The property itself is gorgeous, I had a nice private balcony, with two hammocks out there...definitely ask for that room if you can get it! Breakfast...

beautiful place to stay, it is a little bit far from the town ( walk 5-10 mins). The breakfast is the best part you have plenty of options to choose from.
