The place is kind of funky, but that's maybe its charm. Bed was comfortable, water was plentiful and hot, breakfast good and filling, wifi worked fine in public areas. Free coffee, tea and water throughout the day. Super-nice hosts. I met several nice fellow travelers...More
We really like Bio hostal in Mindo, perfect location, nice shower and comfortable bed. Breakfast is also very good and you can have complimentary filtered water, tea and coffe all day. The staff is very helpful. I would recommend this place, good value for money.
We intended staying 1 night and ended up here for 8. Luis speaks German and English and was very helpful with suggesting activities. His wife Esperanza was always attentive and very pleasant. Our room had a huge window with views of the mountain and tree...More
My room made me feel like I was staying in a very comfortable treehouse. There were 2 walls of window overlooking the garden where I spotted my first wild toucan. The trees are filled with bromeliads and birds. It is an easy walk to town...More
Bio Hostal was recommended to me and now I'm recommending it to you! It was perfect for me - a relaxed, casual environment. Abi and Neicer are terrific - friendly, generous, kind and helpful - making me feel right at home. I had a room...More

There are 3 or more buses per day directly to Mindo center from Ophelia bus station in the north of Quito. However I would recommend taking the ecovia (25 cents) which travels from the old town along 6 decembre to Rio Coco station, transfering to the large northstation (terreste norte) in Carcelen, and taking any bus going to the coast that will stop at top of hill near Mindo. Then take a taxi into town. There is always a bus leaving along this route with minimal wait, no worries about advance purchases or schedule, quick and easy.
