Our room was clean and spacious. The host was pleasant and provided anything we needed including a 3 hour birding tour and late checkout. Breakfast was huge and delicious. The location was perfect... walking distance from everything.
This hostel is well located and provides a comfortable place to stay in Mindo. The beds are pretty good and the shower was hot. Breakfast was pretty standard for Ecuador (eggs, bread and fruit). I agree with a previous review regarding improving the atmosphere but...More
Biohostal has spacious, comfortable rooms with great views. Good breakfast and great coffee. The best part was the staff - Nacer, Abbie, Aricely, Luis & expert bird guide Irman. They all are efficient, knowledgable, warm, friendly and eager to please.

Sounds like a nice place. Is it easy to arrange transportation from Quito and back, and how much is a taxi for two people? Also, do you need guides and transportation for birding in the park? Thanks. We're thinking of going July 22-25 this year

There are 3 or more buses per day directly to Mindo center from Ophelia bus station in the north of Quito. However I would recommend taking the ecovia (25 cents) which travels from the old town along 6 decembre to Rio Coco station, transfering to the large northstation (terreste norte) in Carcelen, and taking any bus going to the coast that will stop at top of hill near Mindo. Then take a taxi into town. There is always a bus leaving along this route with minimal wait, no worries about advance purchases or schedule, quick and easy.
