Decent hotel a little off the main street in Mindo. Our room on the 3rd floor was fairly new and spacious. Hummingbird feeders were laid out in the property, but they don't have a viewing area like some inns. Owner seemed a little too eager...More
Great location, excellent breakfast, comfortable beds and very friendly and helpful staff. We hiked to waterfalls, went bird watching, and had a great presentation at a nearby artisan chocolate place and orchid garden. The hostel only took cash.
My wife and I visited here in 2011 and had good memories so when we were planning our recent trip to Mindo, we decided to stay here again.

There are 3 or more buses per day directly to Mindo center from Ophelia bus station in the north of Quito. However I would recommend taking the ecovia (25 cents) which travels from the old town along 6 decembre to Rio Coco station, transfering to the large northstation (terreste norte) in Carcelen, and taking any bus going to the coast that will stop at top of hill near Mindo. Then take a taxi into town. There is always a bus leaving along this route with minimal wait, no worries about advance purchases or schedule, quick and easy.
