Great friendly staff, wonderful rooms. Was very impressed with how clean and tidy the rooms were and the view was just breathtaking. It's a little pricey but it's worth the stay and the peace of mind if not bringing and unwanted bugs home with you

I simply cannot say enough about this B&B. We are 4 women who shared a 2 bedroom/sitting room suite at 139 Orchard St. The B&B inn is located in the historic district and a 5 minute drive to many of the sites, ie Whaling Museum, New Bedford Museum of Art, the fishing piers and ferries to the islands, and great...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Orchard Street Manor in New Bedford. The owner, Al Saulnier, a widely travelled New Bedford, native was a charming host, a great conversationalist and very knowledgeable about the town's history. Al gave us a tour and explained the house's history and connections to the whaling industry. Orchard Manor is a wonderful old house...

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We certainly appreciate the feedback. I was especially pleased to use my historical expertise in helping you locate the site of a family business in the south end of the city during the 1920s. My great-grandfather lived in that neighborhood and a square there is named after a...

We stayed here for one night and got there very late after being delayed on our drive from New York, but the owner was at the end of the phone when we were lost and was waiting for us when we arrived. It is a beautiful house and worth staying just to see it and such a break from the...

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. You are not the first of our guests who has been guided to the B&B by a last-minute phone call. We realize that sometimes the GPS can be confusing! Usually when someone is alone in the house, we confer on them the role of Lord and Lady of the Manor....

We stayed for one night here in October. The place is stunning. Full of history which the owners a very proud of. We arrived later than planned but the owners were very helpful and friendly. The lady of the house showed us to our rooms and then joined us at the bar for a hour or so chatting away like...

Thanks for your kind words about your stay with us last month. We really appreciate it when guests take some time to write about their stays. I write this response while taking a break from indexing the new volume of the Picture History of New Bedford which is on its way to the printer. I am also responsible for most...

To a weary traveler, returning once again to this lovely refurbished whaling captain's home is like visiting old friends. My quaint room with all the books and specially made breakfasts to fit my special diet requirements never disappoint. This trip a lovely bride was in the parlor, and didn't mind me making a quick photo of her moments before the...

It is indeed like visiting old friends and having a chance to chat about families, grandchildren, new interesting recipes, changes in the art gallery scene and good places to eat! We enjoy having our guests return again and again. That's one of the aspects that makes our lives interesting as innkeepers. Thanks for the great review and we'll be really...

My three day sojourn at the Orchard Street Manor Bed & Breakfast was like a journey to an historic past; a past filled with the bustling energy of the town's "whaling business", and yet I felt surrounded by Orchard Street Manor's serene elegance. The innkeepers, Alfred & Suzanne Saulniers enthusiastically share New Bedford's history with their guests, while treating them...

Thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to share your thoughts about our B&B. It is an exquisite pleasure for us innkeepers when our guests’ interests coincide with our own research. That allows us to share historical tidbits, reactions to each other's own work, who to see and where to locate pertinent material. We both benefit from the...

The Orchard Street Manor is a stately home in a relatively quiet neighborhood not far from the attractions along Union Street and the waterfront. You can walk to town, to restaurants and museums or bring plenty of quarters for on street parking. Like the previous reviewer, my husband and I stayed in the Green room. It's large and lovely although...

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay and for your comments on the satisfaction of our breakfasts. We really appreciate our guests’ reviews. We have found that one of the surprising pleasures of running a B&B is meeting people with whom we share a common link. To have met a friend of an ex-colleague is...

We stayed in the Green room and really loved our bathroom and the big old clawfoot tub (better than a modern whirl pool). The room was nice, comfortable and full of interesting memorabiia and antique touches. And our hosts made for very interesting breakfast conversation and know so much about the history and culture of New Bedford.

We stayed at the Orchard Street Manor last year during the New Bedford Summerfest and enjoyed our stay very much, so much so that we rebooked for this year as soon as we could.
