A beautiful property with attentive and professional staff. I was contacted by Mary S several weeks prior to my stay offering me an upgrade to an oceanfront room for an additional $200 per night. Since my husband and I were celebrating our 36th Wedding Anniversary I took her up on her offer and I was so glad I did. We valet parked our car and were greeted by EJ, welcoming us to The Wailea Beach Resort. He took care of our bags and made sure we know where check in was. At check in we were given POG juice and Kukui nut leis by the front desk attendant, who I am so sorry I didn't get her name, she was so pleasant and informative. After oohing and aahing over our room and view we went for a walk around the property and stopped in to Kapa for some Mai Tai's and appetizers. Brad was our bartender, he was attentive and made some great recommendations. Upon returning to our room flowers my husband had ordered prior to our arrival were in our room with a split of Prosecco. These flowers were the mast amazing tropical flowers I had ever received. Well done by my husband and of course the florist on property. Our room rate included the breakfast buffet the flowing morning at Humble Market Kitchin (not a mis-spelling, that's they way it's spelled). Kate was our server who was so on top of coffee refills, plate removal and recommendations on what was really good from the buffet that included everything from fresh fruit, pastries, waffles, pancakes, bacon, Portuguese sausage, Korean fried chicken and Scrambled Eggs. Lastly, I'm not sure what they put in their signature lotion but it smells amazing, I checked with the gift shop as well as the onsite Spa and neither location sold the lotion. I happen to run across a sweet room attendant and when I asked where I could get some she handed me to little bottles.. Thank you so much to everyone at the Wailea Beach Resort. We will be back next year and for a longer stay!

This was the starting point for our once in a lifetime splurge vacation, and it did not disappoint! The location was a perfect hub for the activities we had planned and the multiple pool options as well as proximity to the beach let us soak up our relaxation time effortlessly. The ocean views were breathtaking, I almost regret booking garden view rooms to stay under budget. The expense would be my biggest complaint, as the amenities like booking a cabana at the adult only pool, using the Olakino pool, or booking any type of spa service was much too much after having paid for the rooms. My other complaint would be the standard toilet paper; Charmin will not break the bank with the way everything is marked up, for real. All that said, everything was maintained beautifully, the grand lobby was lovely, and the breakfast buffet was very well appointed. I would've loved to have a dinner concepted by Roy Yamaguchi, alas, the budget strikes again. We did get to experience good local food with the Kohola Brewery a short walk away, and several reasonable eateries a short drive away in Kihei. Back to the Marriott, I will say all of the staff (except one person at the front desk around 8:30 pm) were fantastically friendly, kind, and accommodating. All of the guests were polite and courteous as well, which I think is an often overlooked aspect that can add or subtract from the experience.

This sprawling resort has pretty much everything you need for a great water vacation. There were at least 5 pools that I counted, water slides, and two fantastic swimming beaches on either side of the resort (Wailea Beach and Ulua Beach, which also has good snorkeling). At each pool there were towels available, a bar, free sunscreen, and a water dispenser; plus we never had trouble finding lounge chairs. With the beautiful grounds and ocean views, we mostly had trouble dragging ourselves away from the resort to see the rest of Maui.

We booked an ocean view room here, and we had a good view of the ocean from our room, with excellent sunset watching. The room had a tile floor, a separate room with toilet and walk-in shower, and a drying rack on the balcony; it was overall in good shape. The main negative is that the wifi was very spotty, sometimes nonexistent except early in the morning and late at night, and the hallways in our building were oddly dark. Also, this is a large resort, and it took us a while to figure out how to get from place to place, but we kind of enjoyed that. The staff here was friendly and helpful.

I was surprised that some reviewers complained about prices here. Yes it’s expensive, but they’re upfront about room prices on the web site, and let’s face it, EVERYTHING in Maui is expensive. If you’re looking to spend less money on food while staying at this resort, I recommend walking over to the nearby Shops of Wailea. This mall has an ABC Market, a Whaler’s General Store, and an Island Gourmet Market with many to-go food options.

Overall we had a great time here.

We stayed here 5 nights and had a good time. Multiple pools and the adult pool is especially nice. Although we only paid for a partial ocean view room, we were practically ocean front with a great view and very close proximity to ocean. This was in one of the “Hales” and not the big tall structure.

The hotel is very close to a small shopping center with some luxury brands but also mid level restaurants and shops snd grocery. This was very convenient.

The rooms are clean and bed was great but they are not top of line. One sink not two, toilet in same room as shower, and chairs / couch not comfortable.

The breakfast buffet is too expensive and so we either had a small breakfast there or went to the nearby market at the shopping center.

I rate it a solid 4 but not a 5. Grounds are nice but not amazing. A couple areas for improvement. Outside porch which has beautiful view needs newer and more comfortable chairs. Also, at the adult pool, there are usually towels in all the chairs even though there is supposed to be a 45 minute limit on holding chairs when you are not there.

We enjoyed our time there but once Lahaina is in better shape in a couple years we will return to the Hyatt at Kannapali where we have stayed before.

Overall, this is a beautiful resort with exceptional service and great pools. The rooms are clean but unimpressive and the bathrooms are pretty basic.

I will start with the cons: the on-site restaurant was very expensive and the food was surprisingly and consistently bad. Apparently this is well known. The Kapa restaurant by the pool was okay. The food at Olakino pool was good. The little market and Starbucks on the resort were the best bet for food. There is also a large outdoor mall a block away with a number of casual and nicer restaurants which are both better and more reasonably priced. If you walk down the beach a bit you can find restaurants at neighboring resorts. Duo was great.

The pros: The resort grounds are gorgeous and the staff is really exceptional. There are a lot of small touches that are really nice: mochi and popsicles handed out at the pools, daily chocolate at the front desk, daily Hawaiian crafts, lessons, and yoga. The concierge was very helpful in setting up whale watching for is.

There are several great pools with views over the ocean and the sunset. We spent one day at the reservation-only Olakino pool and highly recommend it. It’s small, quiet, and lovely. The fee ($200 per person including $50 food credit or $100 for a half day) gets you a lounger, a fantastic pool attendant (our, Kalvyn, was nice, helpful, and very kind), a chair massage, a couple of treats, live music in the afternoon. It was my favorite day on the trip.

Rooms:
We got a deluxe ocean view room in the main building next to the lobby. We liked the location near everything and the view was pretty—other than the service road behind the building. However, there was a lot of construction and renovation going on and the noise was unpleasant during the day. The resort itself is so pretty and there are so many places to sit and enjoy the views that i would not recommend spending extra for a view room. Spend that extra $200+ a night on the Olakino pool!

The other buildings had rooms with patios that opened on the pool areas which looked nice but were apparently pretty loud.

There is no executive lounge at the resort.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here aside from the food. Maui is expensive—plan for double what you would pay in a big city on the mainland. And then just enjoy the gorgeous island.

We had an amazing stay at the Wailea beach resort. The location is the definetly the high end area of Maui with walkable restaurants and shops nearby. The resort is even better than pictured- super clean with superb service from everyone. Our kids loved the game room that had free arcade games (no need to limit the play) and they loved the movie room where they watched encanto and sat on bean bag chairs. The beaches are close and our favorite part of the whole trip was watching the humbback whales jumping. We were there in January and at anytime you could see whales spouting, jumping, or flipping their tale up... it was so cool! We also saw a sea turtle on two occasions at the tide pools right by the resort. the resort food was very good my favorite was the ahi poke bowl from kappa grill (loved it so much i ordered it twice). We did breakfast on our deck and appreciated that we could push a button and they'd come get our dishes... no walking by dine in trays in the hallways like most resorts. Also we loved the wristband keys to the room.. very smart.

We look forward to the next trip here.

Shout out to Eric Duff for making our trip extra special!

Most of the staff here were pleasant and customer service oriented. The housekeeping person assigned to our room would remove the do not disturb sign through it on the ground and then knock on your door early in the am to clean your room. She did this more than once. The rooms are ok but everything is down graded. The toiletries for example are below par and hard to use. The property was not convenient for beach goers, swimming/snorkeling. It’s not far but not right in front of the resort. I would not stay here again. Our room had a beautiful view and right on the water

Having stayed at all of the hotels along Wailea Beach I am not saying the Marriott is the best one but it is the most ideal property for a family trip. The kids pool is unmatched at any property in the area. This alone is a difference maker - especially if you have kids aged 5 to 12. The sprawling resort is a village in itself. The Starbucks and easy access to the Shops of Wailea are an excellent perk. Whether its going to Whalers General Store for Acai bowls, pizza, sandwiches or groceries, Ice Cream at Lapperts the walkable proximity is unparalleled. I am a Titanium Member and the upgraded room was appreciated and added bonus to the trip. I booked two rooms and the hotel provided two rooms across from one another without me making any formal request. Little things like this make a huge difference. The adult only pool is also available with beautiful ocean views for this without families. Overall, it is highly recommended - especially for families looking for a place to stay in beautiful Wailea.

After a whole heap of research and finally deciding on this hotel we were extremely disappointed. As elite marriot members we didn’t receive an upgrade which was fine it they were available and hotel was at full capity like we were told, but was untrue. If fact don’t even believe we got the room type we paid for.
Avoid the ground floor rooms 300’s, our room in particular was right next to the path way the entire hotel uses to get anywhere, everyone walking passed could see right i to our room and could speak to you while you were on your deck trying to relax. There is also stairs right next to the room, where people were frequently tripping, one lady having a very bad fall hitting her head quite badly, really weren’t able to relax as people continued to trip through out stay. Our bathroom sink was blocked for 3 days, despite numerous calls to reception, couldn’t use it so had to brush teeth in the shower. When we asked to change rooms were told they would come back to us, 3 or 4 times, never heard from anyone, even told us they would talk we manager. Nothing!!! rooms were bery out dated and not in the state of repair you would expect for a hotel in this price range.
Only good things were Staff at the swimming pool restaurant were all great and lovely live music each evening.
Check out was a nightmare in fact had to give up and leave as taxi was there.
I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Plenty of other beautiful hotels close by, wish we had stay at one of them.

This was our fourth stay at this resort. I have said in the past that this hotel has the nicest pools especially the adult pool. I no longer feel this way. The adult pool was overrun with pool crashers who were drunk and loud. This is the Serenity Pool! Staff does nothing to keep outsiders out. I overheard people in the pool talking about how easy it is to access this pool. The cost of this hotel has gone up dramatically. At over $1000 a night they should make sure facilities are used by guests only. It's a shame because what was once the nicest pool is now the trashiest pool on Maui. I will not return. At this price stay somewhere else like the Four Seasons.
