We stayed here using points. As a Titanium Elite, we were upgraded to an ocean view studio. The hotel sits on a hill with sweeping views down to the ocean. You can walk down the hill to the shops at Wailea or up the hill to a shopping center with two very good restaurants- Pita Palace and Monkeypod. An eight minute drive takes you to quiet, crescent shaped Ulua Beach. Basic breakfast with something for everyone. Do not leave food unattended! The open air dining area attracts lots of tiny birds that will happily partake in your breakfast!

I only stayed for one day but the hotel was nice and the grounds were well kept. There is 1 pool but it was nice and clean. Free breakfast was decent nothing special. There is a basketball court that my boys used and enjoyed. We had a 2 bedroom suite and it was very nice. I would definitely stay again.

The Residence Inn Maui is in a great area of the island. However, it is not within walking distance to a beach though there are plenty of public beaches nearby. A car is a must, The hotel itself is bare bones as far as decor and services. There is no one to help with the luggage. There is no welcome lei which is customary in Hawaii. The rooms have a kitchen but the decor is pretty plain. No water bottle for guests and no acknowledgment of Marriott status at check-in or during the stay. For nearly $600 a night, one may want more. There is a pool but it was full of loud children from dawn to dusk, if that is not your thing, and the towels are tiny and frayed (these are also your beach towels.) The complimentary buffet breakfast is nice and the selection was fine with premade eggs, breakfast meat, waffles, yogurt, fruit, hot and cold cereal, hard-boiled eggs, various breads and cereal. Juice and coffee but no POG juice. This wouldn't hurt as much if the per night rate wasn't so exorbitant but it is in line with the rest of the island - -Hawaii is $$$ right now

We stayed at the Residence inn on our last day of our Hawaiian vacation. We wanted to briefly see Maui and we tend to stay Marriott. We found this hotel and it was a winner. It is very new and you can tell. Good location. Shops down the road and restaurants around. The breakfast was good, a little more expansive than the typical Residence Inn. The rooms were nice and roomy. It was good for the night for sure, can't speak on long-term, but what I saw and felt, there is no reason it would be a bad place for long stay, as housekeeping was quick and the overall staff was amazing. It had a pretty nice pool and wasn't too far from the beach. This is a winner here in Maui-Wailea.

We did not get much sleep the first night. The night we needed it the most, as we were planning to get up at 2am to see the sunrise over the volcano crater. A ear piercing loud alarm jolted us out of our sleep. We discovered it was a false alarm and it was due to issues with their elevator. We had thought it was a fire alarm. This alarm went off multiple times through the night. Each time we were about to drift off to sleep we would get ripped out of it by this alarm. Honestly to charge this much $$$ for a resort you expect they have their hotel maintained better

Aloha 127pare, Thank you for sharing about your recent experience and I am so sorry about the faulty alarms. We had difficulties with the system between 9:30PM and 10:45PM, and I apologize for the impact this had on your first night. This was a very unexpected and isolated incident, and we are thankful it was a false alarm and not a real emergency. We have already discussed the matter via our e-mail correspondence, but if you had any other questions about the event, please don't hesitate to reach out again. Mahalo!

Family friendly hotel. Some rooms have two double beds and a sofa bed plus a kitchen. The hotel gets families with three or four kids. Some buy groceries and use the BBQ to save on dinner costs. The pool is much nicer than your normal Residence Inn pool. However, the pool’s bar opens after 3 pm so if you want to spend your day at the pool you need to leave to get lunch. I tried UberEATS but it was not available in that area. There are a couple of shopping centers within a ten to fifteen minute walk. One has quite a few stores such as Lululemon, Tommy Bahamas, and others. There is an Island Gourmet grocery store with a deli that offers prepared foods. We bought lunch from the Island Gourmet one day and brought it to the pool. The deli closes at 3 pm though so in the evening there are some packaged items. The beach is a long walk from the hotel. The hotel offers shuttle service and you can use that to get to the beach and shopping. Breakfast has a nice selection. Breakfast starts at 6:30 am on weekdays. Coming from the east coast I was up early and tried to go down a few minutes before 6:30 but they keep the doors locked. There was coffee outside the breakfast room earlier. Breakfast includes eggs, meat, hard waffles, fruit, yogurt, cereal, etc. You can sit outside but don’t leave your food unattended, there are birds waiting for you to leave your plate out. We drove to Kiehi a few times to buy dinner or lunch. There is not much in Wailea. I suggest that you rent a car if staying in this property. We stayed in Lahaina before and we found that area more convenient. The hotel is overpriced for a Residence Inn, but it is Hawaii. If you have several kids and prefer staying in a hotel rather than a condo there are not that many hotel options that can accommodate 2 adults and 3 kids otherwise.

Excellent hospitality and location. Lobby and breakfast dining area were airy and modern. Fun seeing the love birds and sparrows fly around while eating breakfast. The 1 bedroom suite has a good layout for a family of 5. Sofa bed could be improved - a lot of screeching and you can feel the coils. Pool was great for kids with a nice view and plenty of chairs. Ulua beach, 5 mins away, was perfect for snorkeling and family fun at the beach. Room was upgraded as a platinum member. Great stay!

From check in to check out the staff took excellent care of us. The provided breakfast was excellent and kept us going all day. The location was great with beaches and shopping in easy walking distance. The hotel provided a shuttle for trips when we didn't feel like walking. I will definitely stay here again.

We've been here for a few days and I would say this hotel is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in considering the cost of the stay. There is no cleaning service until the 3rd day, no replenishment of toiletries unless you call and ask. The internet doesn't even work and the room is dated considering this is a newer hotel. There are no towels left at night so you need to bring your own. The breakfast is a joke. Beware of staying here.
