We’ve been staying here 4 times. HBO’s “The White Lotus” which was filmed here was shot and edited with kind of a yellow filter that feels so disturbing, and is losing the true deep blue bright sky effect that Maui and this beautiful hotel have. When we get to Hawaii we try to combine this hotel (which is still a bit to ‘big’ and ‘American’) with some more quiet boutique resorts and isolated island beaches. One thing that was disappointing in our last visit: the perfect nude beach (5 min from the Four Season) was closed and sealed by the authorities due to Covid and parties.

Hotel's Favourite
This is hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed at, in my travels throughout the US and in 60+ countries overseas. The staff thinks of your every need - even before you do! I slept amazingly well, and partook of the spa services to have one of the best massages of my life. I also joined the complimentary outrigger sailing in the morning and had a fantastic time. Do yourself and your family a favor and book a solid retreat at this amazing resort.

Although the well designed and constructed building is very large, staff manages to make their excellent service feel personal. They are well trained and truly hospitable. The enormous pool and beautiful beach exude a truly relaxing feel. We loved our visit.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it! The property and grounds are gorgeous. The serenity pool is the star of this resort. This pool opens at 7am, and I was able to secure my choice of front row chairs each day by arriving at 6:15, but people did not line up after me until about 6:40. Once you have towels down, you can leave your spot for 30 minutes. I will say it would be harder to get chairs later in the morning, so don't sleep in too late. The service at the pool is excellent and friendly (we particularly love Cherish!). When the serenity pool was closed (for repairs) for part of our trip, we stayed by the fountain pool. We were pleasantly surprised that it was also a peaceful environment. There are many chair options here, so you don't have to worry about getting there so early. The food here was, for the most part, great. Besides the delicious poolside dining, we tried Spago and Ferraro's which were both excellent. Our favorite was Spago, for it's unique Hawaiian fusion. They both have amazing views at sunset. My advice would be to skip the over priced and mediocre Duo for breakfast. We were very happy with the local's recommendation of Akamai Coffee instead, which is a short walk away. The hotel car can take you there if you prefer a ride. The reason this isn't a 5 star review, is the prices are outrageous, considering the quality of the rooms. The interiors are tired looking and in desperate need of a update. The decor is dull and uninspired, they should have more color or some indication that you are staying in a tropical paradise. I never thought I would reference the White Lotus but it would make sense to have tropical theming in the rooms to mirror the beauty of the grounds. Overall, we definitely recommend this resort for a Honeymoon, and look forward to staying here in the future.

This is absolutely the nicest resort I have ever been to. After a long 18 months stuck at home this was a true escape! We had debated staying at other hotels on Maui and am so glad we chose to stay here. Things that make this resort amazing: 1. Everything is outside, covid does not feel like a worry or a burden 2. Wonderful beach and pool with fantastic staff to help set up a beach or pool chair/cabana and provide real service with all aloha attitude (extra mahalo to Kaleo!). The ocean is warm and clear, perfect for swimming 3. Delicious food and drinks from all of the restaurants on site. You do not need to leave the resort but can also easily walk to the other hotels in Wailea along the beach path 4. Fantastic spa- get a massage in a hale 5. Cool outdoor gym with machines outside This is a place for real rest and relaxation. Enjoy!
