This is a beautiful hotel. We love the entrance and modern Hawaiian touches throughout the hotel. The pools and grass areas are gorgeous with amazing views of the ocean. The breakfast buffet is the best and the staff is awesome. We really loved our room and the shower that allows you to see the ocean while you bathe. Spectacular!
Fabulous Anniversary stay. We had not been traveling because of Covid-19, but we came this year. We had an Ocean View room where you could also see the 4 pools. Room was good, breakfast buffet was good and the dinner at Morimoto’s was great ! Staff at the Tranquil Pool was great and the food was good. A few issues to note…. A Cabana and photos were mentioned at check-in, however the photos are Not complementary( we found out later) . Concierge needs some help. It is now a 3rd party set up across the lobby from the front desk. I made contact for airport transport. Was quoted two options. I took one, then heard nothing back. Just before the trip person no. 2 responded with another that was better plus the fact that person A was out. Still needed to call when we got in because we did not have the drivers number. It was the same leaving….there is some type of mis handling of needed requests. We forgave them the photo misinformation. But the deal with the Cabana…geez.we had said tranquil pool, adults only. We got booked for bottom pool, the one with all the kids….the same day we asked! We wanted Sunday. They send a confirmation, wrong info. I send a note and get person B who almost gets it right. Took 3 tries, but the staff at the pool took care of us(…Thank you Aisey). Breakfast buffet we really enjoyed. As well as Morimoto’s. Dinner at the same place as breakfast….very forgettable except for the Watermelon Salad. We may come back, but now have to worry about the thoroughness of the contacts.…
The hotel condition and service are poor, it should not be rated 5 stars. Better service, experience and conditions are available for comparable prices elsewhere. We were in Hawaii at a number of 5 star hotels for an extended honeymoon, and the Andaz was the worst/ most expensive of all. Definitely skip this hotel and find a better option!
This is a nice, new modern hotel in a great location however its not for everyone. The hotel lacks a proper relationship with the waterfront and is seemingly forced onto a steep and narrow plot of land. The circulation about the hotel is very convoluted and confusing (in some instances you have to go up to go down or vice-versa). There are four different pool levels to pass and navigate before reaching the beach level which is yet another level down from there. While this is architecturally interesting to look at it does not function well and there are too many steps to climb in order to access the beach or the on site Japanese restaurant. The basic rooms (which are not inexpensive) are small and the bathroom / closet configuration is problematic and very tight. The hallways follow a dim dark mood and more like a New York City boutique hotel than an Hawaiian ocean front hotel. The pool chair cushions were very dirty and even though they cover them it was unpleasant to see. The pool cabanas are very cheaply appointed and offer very little in the way of luxury and are not worth the upgrade cost. Also the breakfast buffet @ $50 per head is lack luster and the quality of the fruits served were no better than what could be found on the mainland and unfortunately that's not saying much (picked to soon, hard and not sweet). I was pleased to find the hotel has the best Air Conditioning system of any hotel visited on any of the islands. While the nearby Four Seasons is the most expensive on the island it is worth considering the extra $ if you want a true Maui experience on one of the most beautifully developed pieces of property on the planet. …
This was the first time that we stayed at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort. We have stayed at other properties in the Wailea area, but we really enjoyed this property (the beach, activities and the food at this resort). The resort fee includes numerous activities, including Paddle boarding, Outrigger Canoe, Yoga and Lei Making, which we enjoyed. Some of the activities require registering with the Concierge staff. The breakfast at the Ka'ana Kitchen is amazing and delicious! Lots of choices, including a variety of breakfast meats, eggs, fruit, pastries, juices (Honeydew Ginger, Pineapple Tumeric, Kale, etc...) We looked forward to enjoying the breakfast each day after taking a morning walk/run. The resort hosts, parking valets and the staff at the Ka'ana Kitchen provided us with exceptional service! We are looking forward to returning in the future…
Have stayed at Andaz many times and this time we could tell they were just getting the hang of things again after COVID. Attention to detail was not on par and prices were higher on drinks and food. All breakfast for guests should be included.
My wife and I have visited the Andaz in Maui a few times now and enjoy the rooms, amenities, and above all, the concierge services and friendliness of folks who work at the property. A huge standout to our recent trip was Dennis P who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay and to see that we were taken care of throughout our trip. He is friendly, helpful, personable and made our trip exceptional. Mahalo Dennis!!
The place is wonderful, great breakfast. What keeps us coming back is the staff here they are amazing. They find a way to make your experience wonderful. The grounds are beautiful and the bartenders have amazing specialty drink making skills.
Our second stay at Andaz. We like the younger, laid back feel. We visited other resorts including Four Seaons and we like Andaz better because the vibe feels more like Maui, non pretentious, nice people, amazing beach, beyond incredible staff. All the staff is very friendly and helpful just as long as you treat them with respect. We loved the Feast at Mokapu Luau. But mostly we enjoyed the beautiful beach. My only complain is that people from other resorts would come to claim beach chairs and towels and there was not really any practices to prevent them.
We had an 8 day vacation planned at the Hyatt and after 1 day we checked out and moved to a different hotel. The food program was abysmal (poor quality, served in plastic, including room service), the room was small, the furnishings were worn, the internet was spotty, and amenities were few. As a Hyatt member, I was shocked at how poor the quality of the hotel was.
