The exterior, lobby, lifts and pool are palatial and give an excellent first impression. Rooms, however, leave something to be desired. We had no hot water in our basin, and the door lock didn't work. Staff seemed uninterested, and it took our tour guide's intervention to help us change room. We were not alone with problems, and a significant number...

I stayed two nights at the Jagua. This is a relatively modern looking hotel with a very tropical look and feel. The rooms were a little worn but they were large and clean. Only one of the room lights did not work. Drinks were reasonably priced and the breakfast was OK. Try to avoid exchanging currency at the hotel –...

Filthy hotel, complaints dealt with with a shrug, couldn't wait to get away from here. I had read other reports on trip advisor and was dreading our time here, but on a tour with Saga I had no opportunity for change.

We stopped at this hotel for lunch in the garden restaurant. We ordered off the menu so we could all choose what we wanted. We had pizza and spaghetti, both of which were okay. The ambiance was pleasant as we were sitting outside bordering the water. One worry, however, is that the bathrooms off the pool for restaurant patrons to...

The building is only "one room" wide, so all rooms have a view across the bay into town. Apparently the hotel was built just before the 1959 Revolution by Batista's brother. While the building is about 60 years old it still has a nice modern feel and is kept in good shape. There are two bars downstairs with live music...

our room was very musty, and smelled like smoke. Our mattress was close to nothing, very little hot water for a shower, staff were almost non existence, yet kept on leaving notes for a tip !! We were there on a Saturday night and the noise from the next door local bar was very loud and went on till over...

I was concerned as we read many reviews that indicated this hotel may not be up to US standards. It was great. The rooms all have a view of the water. The air conditioning worked great. We actually made it nice and cold and put blankets on. The food at the hotel was really good. The buffet dinner actually had...

Given all the comments we'd heard about Cuban hotels, we were pleasantly surprised when we walked into our room. It was large, with 2 double beds, linoleum tile on the floors, air conditioning that worked great, lovely view, and very large, relatively new bathroom. The place was very clean. And although the bedspreads and drapes weren't expensive looking, they were...

My group just stayed at the hotel, and all the rooms were good. No problems with air and we had hot water. We all had balconies with beautiful views. We loved going to Palacio de Valle next door for drinks, views of the sunset from the roof and a super band. Hotel had a good band in the evenings too....

-Average accommodations, -Huge amount of tourists from all over the world in a cafeteria/self serve style breakfast - My 1st ever criticism of an uncomfortable bed All that said, this is one of the few decent accommodations in Cienfuefo,
