We stayed here as part of our trip to Trinidad and Santa Clara.....the hotel did what it needed to do we were there for one night bed and breakfast and it was more that enough choice for evening meal and also for breakfast ! The location was fine even though we didn't have much time in the area !

This is no exotic tourist hotel but it gives those who are sufficiently adventurous to step outside the all-inclusive resorts the chance to sample something different. The warmth of the welcome was without precedent, even among that which we had come to expect from friendly Cuban people. The rooms are not as luxurious as you will find in the main...

Cienfuegos a quaint seaport town founded by the French in the early 19th Century. The Hotel - Islazul Pasacaballo is situated on beautiful grounds, which is its major asset. Accomodations is best described as economical i.e. no frills like an ice machine. The room was well kept and on our television we could access a Canadian channel. We enjoyed our...

Our group stayed here for two nights and enjoyed the hotel property, however we had a couple of incidents that were of concern. First, several of our group got stomach illness after swimming in the pool. Second, one of our party could not find his computer when packing, but when we went to the management and asked for names of...

We were in a group that somehow was bumped from our booked hotel, and wound up here. Dirty, dated, noisy, horrible breakfast. Located far from the town. Strange pillow makes it hard to sleep. Took over a half hour to check in our group of 9 couples. It's all been said before. On the positive side, the structure itself can be...

Think this has had a recent makeover! A former soviet concrete structure that has had modern artwork, colour and furnishings added. Rooms were large and comfortable and the bathrooms the best we saw in 6 weeks in Cuba! Its main problem being it is miles from anywhere and transportation is essential. Dining room is somewhat austere and more in keeping...

That is actually too generous a phrase, credited to the author of Frommer's guide to Cuba. We should have taken heed. There were no other options in Cienfuegos, yet this was the worst accommodation I have experienced and I have stayed in hundreds of rooms in Latin America. I get the circumstances under which it was built, but why would...

We stayed here for one night as part of an overnight tour of the area. There was a special show in the hotel that evening. The noise from that could be heard in my room, which was overlooking the reception area. We had dinner in the basement restaurant, the food was very nice and the service excellent. Breakfast buffet was...

I have travelled to Cuba more than 30 times over the past two decades, but had never stayed at the Pasacaballo before a trip in October 2015. The Trip Advisor review made me apprehensive, but my concerns were put to rest shortly after my arrival. The Pascabello is typical of many 1990s resorts constructed when Cuba opened its doors to...

Rooms small, the food was horrible, very greasy and lacking flavor. The best thing about the hotel was the bartender, friendly and informative. Atmosphere was not there for anything, smoking everywhere, reception desk was extremely hot, they should have installed ceiling fans to circulate the air. I got there around 8:30 PM and finally got a room by 9. I...
