My wife and I were initially pleased when we arrived at this inn. It had a nice historic feel to it, great location beside the Mersey River, and a very attractive dining room. We made reservations for 7pm, arriving at 6:45. The dining room was filling up, in contrast to 5pm when we had stopped in for a drink. However,...

Dear Mr. Taggart Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It is distressing to us that you did not have an enjoyable experience. Your server is fairly new to serving, but he is kind, conscientious and has had very good commments from guests. Your wait was longer than perhaps it should have been and we apologize for...

I accidentally reviewed hotel in restaurant part, so use this as a correction and update. Inn is circa 1800s and there is what it look like new addition to it. New stayed in old inn with creaky stairs, uneven floor but lots of character. The surprise here was restaurant. It was so warm inviting with such a great ambience that...

We came to Liverpool on errands and decided to try the Inn based on a description we read about it. Apparently we were in during the Lazy Brunch (a Saturday), and chose the Pancakes with two eggs (and a slice of honeydew, lovely). The coffee was good, but not included, FYI, and the pancakes very buttery-tasting. Real maple syrup was...

this is a lovely inn. wish we could have stayed a few more nights. Liverpool is also a larger city than expected. we had room 112 & it's quite large, although the bathroom is a bit tight. also a night light would have been nice, it's quite dark at night. we had a late lunch in the restaurant & the...

Thank you for your kind review Kathryn. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. Each room at the inn is unique and there are many that have more spacious bathrooms than 112. We admit that it is rather snug. Thank you for pointing out the need for a night light. We will address this. The building...

In this area of the Beautiful South shore of Nova Scotia there aren't many REALLY good consistent places to eat. Lane's is a must. I go every year and take all my friends from this area for good conversation and better food. I have found (over the last several years) that the food is always consistent. Notice my words. Every...

Thank you for your very kind review. We are so pleased that you had a good experience with us. We take great care to provide the freshest local cuisine that we can offer. This year we have added fresh lobster and you can still get locally sourced halibut, scallops, mussels, clams and haddock. Freshest seafood is our mandate. We hope...

I left it too late to book both nights in Liverpool, but we had an enjoyable stay on Friday.Rooms are nice not big but adequate for a weekend stay, close to the grounds so you can walk back and forth to the festivities.Reasonably priced for the tourist season.

What a match - a delicious dinner attached to the best place to sleep it off! Lane's Privateer Inn, a true inn, serves outstanding meals with local harvests, in a place full of character and atmosphere. Then stroll off to a spacious, modern room & bath and a perfect bed. It doesn't get any better than that.

We did not stay at the inn, but did enjoy a delicious meal in their dining room. The atmosphere is very charming and cozy feeling. The food was very good as well as friendly efficient service. We ordered Caesar salad for appetizer and haddock for main course. The inn overlooks the water and has a nice view.

Our family of four spent 2 nights in room 132, it was wonderful. The historic building is so beautiful, including the 2 dining rooms. The food was really great and everything was fresh. The service from all the staff was so warm and friendly. We were told about great walking trails and beaches in the area which we really enjoyed....

I've stayed here overnight before and had a great experience - of the stay, of the food, and of the service. So when my husband and I were destined to be in the Liverpool area around lunchtime, I had no hesitation at stopping here. The dining room is beautiful and the service very friendly. Lots to choose from on the...
