The location is perfect within Liverpool. The ground floor rooms are easily accessible if you have difficulty climbing stairs. No problems with WiFi but the tv did not connect to the router. Front desk staff came to our room to try and reconnect the tv box but were unsuccessful. There was no followup from staff. The room was clean. The doors are made of solid wood and are a bit difficult to open and close, probably due to age and the wood swelling from humidity/rain (entrance to our room is not from within the Inn). Water was instantly hot in the shower. Restaurant and bar on site. During our stay we discovered, that for the most part there is no one at the front desk, if you have any difficulties, find staff at the bar and they can find someone to help you. There is an emergency number you can call after hours. Other than that, skip phoning the front desk and head straight to the bar for assistance. There are many business that are understaffed and Lane's is no exception, all you can do is be patient. In the summer there may be more staff available in the office.…
My husband and I spent the night of 8-4-22 at this motel. We were impressed at how clean and comfortable it was. There was a comfortable bed and nice pillows. A hearty breakfast was provided for motel guests even though their restaurant was closed to the public for breakfast.
The hotel was very nice. Clean and spacious room. The restaurant was not open and the front desk was closed due to Canada Day I suppose. It was centrally located in Liverpool next to the river. The price was very reasonable. I would stay here again and recommend it.
Well located but it didn’t seem/feel clean. Carpets in hallway dirty, crumbs on room floor, not clean/fresh sheets (wrinkles and looked slept in, found long hair in bed), dirty toilet bowl (I’ll spare you the details), drip stains in tub… Uncomfortable in all, could not sleep 😕
This one has character. It's definitely older but the owners have kept it's uniqueness intact. Can't do steps, don't stay here. For the rest though, if you don't want all the frills of a modern hotel, this is a good place. Bed was comfortable, staff accommodating and restaurant onsite was delicious. Would stay here again.
I was very disappointed with our stay here. The carpets were dirty, the furniture old and chipped, and the wallpaper peeling in our room. The beds were very lumpy. The hotel itself was dark and dismal. Such a shame as it has potential to be a great place if they put some money into it. Definitely did not deserve a four out of five rating.
Right at the mouth of the Mersey River, Lane's Privateer Hotel captures the atmosphere of this charming town. Rooms are large and comfortable. The restaurant serves good food, and it is a short walk to Main Steet, the ligjthouse, the Hank Sniw Museum.
We booked Lane's for one night. Good email response time and easy to book. The Inn is "dated" and quite a maze of hallways, rooms, and additions. The room was a basic 2 standard beds, micro, and fridge. Clean and in need of TLC. We reserved for dinner but no need we were it for a Friday night. The food and service were good and I did enjoy the peace and quiet of an empty dining room...live entertainment every alternate Friday. The traffic noice was noticeable all night although we were at the back of the property. Coffee machine is provided in the room. NO breakfast service in the morning! You're on your own. The Bakery and Cafe are part of the Inn but do not open until 11:00am! I do wish that we had been told of these nuances ahead of time. For $110 we got our money's worth. Would I come back, ????…
We stayed there for one night in April. The room was clean and with a good view to the river. We headed down to the restaurant to get some lunch. Very nice atmosphere, but hard to find a place, because more or less all tables had used service on them. It was not removed until few minutes before we left. Price and quality did not match. Food was below avarage, but price sky-high. The room was very noisy. The walls this as paper. You could hear everything the neighbour talked about. When neighbours used shower and toilet, it was extremely noisy. Unfortunately they both took long showers late at night. Apparently the hotel was under renovation, and it was certainly needed. There was a huge hole in the ceiling in the reception. Drain pipes were leaking and water nearly flooded the balcony. Not a place we would recommend.…
It was lobster roll month on the south shore .We ordered take out. It was a little wait for our order. The roll was very tasty. Fries were ok. Thanks Lanes , Really appreciate being able to do take out while in the area.
