This was a surprise find as we tried to find a place to stay in Natchez. First of all it was a beautiful approach up the hill then a warm greeting from staff. We stayed in a building behind the inn that had rooms for two couples in it. The fireplace was turned on and the bathrooms looked new. It...

If you stay at Monmouth make sure to stay in the main house and get to eat in the 1818 restaurant. The place is decorated true to its style with beautiful furnishings and some antiques, especially the main dining room is superb. The grounds are spacious with ponds, gazebos and wood walks, all well maintained. While overnight the stay is...

No assistance with bags. No directions to get in the house which has to be from the back, obviously without elevator. The dining room was limited to a private party. The room was old & quaint. The bar man was friendly & eccentric. The bar food was average. The guests were nice. The breakfast (OK) is offered in a building a...

My wife and I stayed her during the weekend after valentines day. We booked the romance package and got room 42 in the plantation suite. Overall we had a great weekend relaxing and enjoying the grounds and food. Yet, there were just a few drawbacks. We found 3 dead spiders, 2 dead, and 1 live roach in our room and...

Folks either like staying in a 200 year old mansion, or they don't. For those who enjoy the experience, Monmouth doesn't disappoint. We got in late and had to leave early, so we didn't have a chance to sample the restaurants, but the staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was quiet and comfortable, the bed soft with plenty...

We planned to pass through the area and wanted to stay somewhere to help us celebrate our 2nd Anniversary. The Monmouth did not disappoint! The Room was great, the Breakfast was wonderful and our Supper at the 1818 Restaurant, in the Main House, was one of the Best evening meals we have ever had. We found the Monmouth under a...

I am personally calling upon all of those who love Monmouth as much as my wife and I do, to pack your bags and show your support! The Monmouth is under new ownership, not because of prior ownership, just the times we lived in the last four years. The marvelous staff that we have all known for all these years...

I had to work hard to find information about vacationing in Mississippi. Very Hard. Even Tripadvisor didn't have a lot of info. Mississippi.Org didn't even seem to realize what a great state they have. None of my friends could understand why I even wanted to go to Mississippi for a vacation. The previous year I had gone to Tuscany. But...

Having a few days to travel around after Mardi Gras in New Orleans we were lucky enough to land in Natchez at the Monmouth Plantation. From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were amazed by the surroundings and services offered at this Inn. It is difficult to truly explain the vastness and opulence of the property:...

Monmouth in January is a great way to get away and relax. We stayed three nights. The entire staff were great and very helpful and friendly to us. I want the owners to know that the staff is their greatest asset. The meal at 1818 was better than expected. The room was warm even on a cold night. We toured...
