We just returned from our stay at Monmouth where I celebrated another birthday and wonderful balloon festival weekend in Natchez. This is the third year that we stayed at Monmouth and we prefer it over the local hotels and other bed and breakfasts in the area. We have been going to balloon fest since it started and stayed at 3... More

During our round trip in the deep south we stayed in this most beautiful hotel. We had a room in the main building and our travel compagnon stayed in one of the garden rooms. The atmosphere was just great. Also the dinner we had in the restaurant was great. Choice on the menu is not that big, but the quality... More

I did not find this Plantation a first class luxury hotel experience. Our cottage was #39. The room was not well appointed. One fold-out couch in the den. The bedroom had no dressers for clothes. There were small slots in the closet for some things. The bathroom had one towel rack and repaired spots where others racks should have been.... More

We spent a recent weekend in Natchez and stayed ay Monmouth Plantation. The main house was under construction. Our room was a cottage on the grounds. The decor was nice, but nothing special. The grounds were lovely and relaxing. We ate dinner at the restaurant 1818. The food was good, but again nothing special. The service was painfully slow. We... More

I stayed here with my girlfriend for two nights during the latter part of our road trip from Chicago to New Orleans. We were not aware that it was ‘Fall Pilgrimage’ but were pleased that there would be a number of antebellum homes open to the public. Upon discovering this, we had hoped to complement our experience by staying in... More

This was the fourth stop on our tour of the "deep South". The house and grounds are magnificent and steeped in history. We had a beautiful room on the first floor which had a wide communal balcony over looking the courtyard, gardens and reception building. This suited us perfectly as we are smokers and therefore just had to step outside... More

We made a tour through the south of the USA. We spent two nights in this hotel. The location where it is located is convenient to restaurants. The room was very nice. The rooms are decorated in the original style of 200 years ago, but with the luxury of today. There is free and fast WIFI. The breakfast is served... More

We were looking for a Southern stay and we choose to stay one night at Monmouth in one of the Antebellum Rooms on the second floor of the main house and we were not disappointed! The bed was actually General Quitman's bed, which of course had modern day extremely comfortable bedding. The room was lavishly decorated with original and period... More

Hospitality was exceptional. Everyone greeted us with a smile! The complimentary breakfast exceeded our expectations. (eggs prepared to order, meat, biscuits, home-made jellies, grits and the list goes on and on!) Nice walking trail around the property which you will need after your breakfast! Our room was clean with all the modern amenities even though the decor is true to... More

Monmouth is a memorable place - beautiful grounds, tasteful rooms, subtly pleasant and polite staff, delicious dinner. We could stay there for days just lounging around the room and grounds. The only slight letdown is the quality of breakfast, but that pales in comparison to the wonders of the place.
