My husband an I enjoyed staying at the 1888 Wensel House. Our host, Ron, was a wealth of information about history and places. We enjoyed visiting with him. We met Mimi later and also enjoyed visiting with her. The breakfast was excellent, the room was big and clean, and we had safe parking for our motorcycle. I did a lot...

Ron, the innkeeper, was a true delight! He is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the history of the city. We stayed in the First Room. It was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. The downtown location made it easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. The breakfast was VERY good and plentiful! We will be returning in the future!

The Oak Room that we stayed in was very comfortable. The breakfasts were great. The location was impeccable. Parking on the street was no problem even during the Easter holiday. We enjoyed being able to walk through the downtown. The carriage tours on the corner were also fun. But all that pales compared to hosts Ron and Mimi. My husband...

Please forgive my late response to your review. I don't know how I could have overlooked it, especially since it's a very flattering review. I certainly do appreciate the kind words in your review and the time you took to write the wonderful review. You touched lots of bases that I would like for our prospective guests to know about,...

We had a good time at the Wensel House. It is in a good location close to the river and within easy walking distance of downtown. The hosts were pleasant, very hospitable, and very helpful about things to see and do in Natchez. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well furnished. The only problem we had was some difficulty in...

Thanks for writing a review and sharing your experience with prospective guests. Thanks for not only noting the convenient location and the comfort of the room, but also for noting the "difficulty in regulating the temperature of the shower." When you arrived, we had only recently switched the hot water source for the Front Room from a hot water tank...

My daughter and I stayed with Ron and Mimi at their beautiful home in May 1016. The accommodations were great and the hosts very warm and welcoming. They made a point to introduce all the guests to one another and make us all feel right at home. It was almost like staying with family. Ron recommended some great restaurants and...

We had a great time in the kitchen making biscuits, didn't we. I'm glad you found the biscuit production interesting. We love visiting with our guests at breakfast. Though we laugh a lot, we also learn so much about the world that way. Thanks for sharing your experience with others who are looking for a place to stay in Natchez....

We ran a bit late, but Ron made us feel welcome immediately. He got us settled quickly and recommended a restaurant. He and his wife Mimi are extremely knowledgable about the history of Natchez and we had some delightful conversations. The location is excellent. The bedroom and bathroom are spacious. The breakfast was delicious.

Sue K, Thank you very much for writing a review of your stay with us and for saying such great things about your stay. We did indeed have some delightful conversations, especially when the French and Spanish guests chimed in. For me, the conversations at breakfast are the most fun part of running a b&b. Thanks for visiting us and...

The host and hostess received us with true Southern charm. The home had been restored by them and they made us feel very welcome. They also provided generous Southern breakfasts. Our room was very comfortable with an ample bathroom and cozy bed and bedding. The house is located within walking distance of many places of interest.

You are so kind to take the time and write a review for our B&B. Thank you very much. I especially like the caption "Right in the heart of Natchez," because that is not often apparent to prospective guests. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks again. Come back some time. We'd love to see you again.

From the first moment of booking, Ron couldn't have been more accommodating. We had the nicely decorated front bedroom with double sink vanity in the bathroom. The house is an easy walk to many restaurants and historical buildings sites. Ron and Mimi are a wealth of knowledge regarding Natchez history,,personalities and preservation. What a perfect review. I'm glad you found the dishes I suggested at the restaurant to be to your liking. Last week we went to one of our favorite restaurants and found only four tables occupied, all with friends of ours and all ordering the same dish, which is apparently everyone's favorite. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The restored Victorian house is conveniently located for walking, being only a block from the park along the edge of the park overlooking the river and only 4 blocks from the center of town. The three guest rooms are on the 2nd floor. Each has 2 beds (Queen & Single) and a private "en suite" bathroom adjoining just that room. A full breakfast is freshly-cooked each morning (eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, home-made biscuits, blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, orange juice, & coffee or tea). Wine, soft drinks, and fresh fruit are gratis and are available any time. You help yourself to Franzia Chardonnay in a box in the refrigerator and to soft drinks and purified water and ice in the bar at the foot of the stairs. Your hosts enjoy providing you with guidance on what to see and where to eat and drink. A free, small, secluded, private, on-site parking lot is located behind the house, at the end of Wensel Street. ... more   less
