This was our first visit to Natchez Mississippi and my mother and I wanted to give a bed and breakfast a try. Upon reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, I decided to book the 1888 Wensel House, I am so glad that I did!!! Upon Arrival, the beautiful home, which has been restored to its original grandeur was like entering...

My husband and I stayed at 1888 Wensel House because we were interested in learning about the history of Natchez, MS. Ron and Mimi, the owners of 1888 Wensel House, are area historians and were able to share so much colorful and fascinating history of Natchez. The B&B was wonderful. Much attention to detail, very clean and comfortable. Great breakfast...

Thank you for such a wonderful review. I am so glad you took the time to write it and I am very grateful. It was indeed fun around the dinner table with y'all and the couple from France and the USA, now living in Montreal. We look forward to another visit with us, sometime. Again, many thanks.

A warm welcome is assured by those who visit Wensel House in Natchez. You are guaranteed a comfortable room, great food and expert tourist advice. The proprietors are warm and genuinely concerned about their guests. The location is ideal. Just steps from the Mississippi River and a short drive from the beginning of the Natchez Trace.

Our first stay at a B & B - so glad we chose this over a chain hotel when staying in this historic town! Gathering around the breakfast table and visiting with our hosts, Mimi and Ron, was a highlight of our trip! They have exceptional knowledge of the area's history. The breakfast was superb: eggs, grits, fresh fruit, homemade...

We stayed here as a stop over on our way to NOLA and couldn't have been more pleased. Our room was very comfortable, our hosts were very gracious and knowledgeable of local history, and the location is perfect for walking to almost everything you'll want to see. Thumbs up!!

My wife and I stayed with Ron and Mimi during a 3 day getaway to Natchez for a little downtime. Accommodations were great, breakfasts were superb (you have to try those blueberry pancakes!), and our hosts' knowledge of the area was more than we could have hoped for. Really enjoyed the stay and would definitely recommend their B&B as a...

A bit late, but nonetheless sincere! My husband and I, with friends from England, stayed at the Wensel House for four days in October. The house is lovely and our rooms were very pleasant, providing for good sleep. The breakfast was delicious, especially the small home-made biscuits and blueberry pancakes. Each morning, I had to remind myself to take small...

Charming Victorian B&B with reasonable rates. The hosts who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfy. Great breakfast. Many sights within walking distance. We were in the first room (upstairs), big enough for our luggage plus a more that roomy bathroom. My personal drawback was street noise. But I’m really sensitive to noise, so if...

Thanks for writing a review. Mimi and I really appreciate it. Thanks for mentioning the warm welcome, the convenient location, and the breakfast. A very nice Victorian era house (built in 1881 I assume). Our room had a nice 4 poster bed and a large bathroom. Everything was very clean. The wrap-around porch was great for sipping the complementary wine in early evening. As noted in other reviews, a very nice breakfast. A good location in general, and very close to Rosalie (one...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The restored Victorian house is conveniently located for walking, being only a block from the park along the edge of the park overlooking the river and only 4 blocks from the center of town. The three guest rooms are on the 2nd floor. Each has 2 beds (Queen & Single) and a private "en suite" bathroom adjoining just that room. A full breakfast is freshly-cooked each morning (eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, home-made biscuits, blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, orange juice, & coffee or tea). Wine, soft drinks, and fresh fruit are gratis and are available any time. You help yourself to Franzia Chardonnay in a box in the refrigerator and to soft drinks and purified water and ice in the bar at the foot of the stairs. Your hosts enjoy providing you with guidance on what to see and where to eat and drink. A free, small, secluded, private, on-site parking lot is located behind the house, at the end of Wensel Street. ... more   less
