When so many hotels look tiresomely similar and soleless, the Glendale retains charm and character. We had a very comfortable night and enjoyed a lovely breakfast. Staff are attentive and friendly. Thoroughly recommend their great restaurant.

Staying for the night after going to watch some rugby. As a place to get my head down it wasn't too bad however for a longer stay, i probably would look elsewhere. There being no en suite in the room was a minus, supposed to be for our use only but other people did use it. The shower in there...

We stayed here for 3 nights and found it very delightful. The hotel has been beautifully restored to its 1800's heritage. The lounge area is just beautiful as is the gardens. There is a fantastic Italian restaurant in the hotel which caters to taste buds. Breakfast is served in the lounge and offers a full cooked brekky. Close to transport...

OMG just came back from here, expensive is not the word! Two starters and 2 main with 2 drinks each what would've been £40 - £50 in a normal place this was £77!! The cheek of the barman aswell keeping our change without asking! It was my birthday also and all I got offered was a dead rose, never come...

I booked 4 rooms here for my family as we were attending a wedding nearby and this was the closest hotel available. We read the reviews and didn't have high expectations! Our booking was made through another travel website and I amended this booking approx six weeks before to cancel a night from our stay. This was dealt with however...

This hotel is absolutely lovely. The decor is really unique and is in keeping with the old Victorian building. We were greeted by Will who was very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for him. We also met the owner and his sons who are very welcoming and friendly. Made you feel like you were at home as...

Stayed here for one night only. Downstairs restaurant looks reasonable, but bedroom was tatty and old sash windows wouldn't open. There was a lighter by the lamp on the floor and a battered kitchen roll left by the cups, one of which had a dirty spoon on the saucer. In the bathroom there was a container of caustic soda and...

If you want somewhere reasonable to lay your head, enjoy a good cooked breakfast and friendly staff, then the Glendale Hotel is just the job. Visiting the area for a family wedding, 8 of us stayed here. The welcome was warm as we all gathered from different directions and enjoyed a drink. Unfortunately we were too late to enjoy the...

Stayed at hotel for a Friday and Saturday in august 2016 for our daughter's wedding. On our arrival the young man on desk was unable to find our key and said some one was using the room we had been allocated. We could have a different room but would have to change rooms for the second night. We explained this...

Stayed here for 1 night - nice friendly hotel and the restaurant food is really good. It was a nice warm evening with everybody outside so it was noisy until midnight. Good breakfast and it was worth the money for the bank holiday. The steak with Gorgonzola is worth a try.
