Having booked a weekend away, with friends, we were delighted to arrive at The River Cafe's 'Bunkhouse'. It is modern, quirky with great space and facilities. The owners own this and the cafe just on opposite side of car park (literally 10 feet away). Accommodation is amazing - with fully equipped accommodation for groups. Situated above the activity centre there...

I'd like to give this gem of a place a bad review simply to keep it a secret but that would be plain wrong and selfish! We were very lucky to be able to book on the same day we wanted to stay, and so our expectations weren't high with it being a bank holiday as well - but when...

We had 14 of us stay in the bunkhouse for my sister's hen party and absolutely loved it! The bunkhouse was clean and spacious and perfect for everyone to be included with how open it was. Although, this does mean sound travels so if you have any people who like to lie in they might find this difficult! For our...

Stayed here with a group of friends during a cycle tour. Rooms were excellent - One with a river view & another double in the main cafe building and a 4 bedded room complete with river balcony in an annexe. There were some things lacking that might be expected in a smart B&B; eg proper wardrobes, a table to write...

I really enjoyed my visit to the River cafe today, lovely friendly staff, fantastic food and beautiful surroundings. The Ham and mustard sandwich with homemade chips were mouth watering! The atmosphere there was so relaxed and welcoming, I will be coming back!

Nothing could be faulted from the friendly, smiley welcome to the excellent breakfast the following morning. Everywhere was light, bright, clean and comfortable. Very good food and interesting menu. Beautiful setting right on the river. Weather good enough for us to sit on the terrace with a drink early evening overlooking the river and to borrow their Wye Valley walk...

We have been wanting to visit the River Café for quite a while but it is quite a long trek and last time we tried it was closed, despite the website saying it was open! The restaurant itself is pleasant and airy but the seating is uncomfortable. 3 hrs on a bench with no back was not the ideal way...

Please do telephone ahead and ask for chairs. The restaurant is about half chairs and half benches - but we are always happy to swap around chairs for benches if you ask one of the waitresses! We have had great reviews for the food so I am sorry you did not enjoy it. I believe it is both imaginative, fresh...
