This was our fifth, possibly sixth, visit to 'Wenallt' and, as before, it was excellent. The standard never varies, it has been five-star every time we've been there.
Ian and Sarah are superb hosts; the accomodation is very comfortable and the breakfasts (vegetarian options available) are especially good, as are Sarah's home-baked flapjacks which are provided with the refreshnents in the rooms.
It's the place to stay when in N. Wales, and we hope to return soon.

Wenallt B&B continues to provide consistently good service, despite these difficult and challenging times. Sarah and Ian work very hard to provide very comfortable accommodation, lovely freshly cooked breakfasts, and friendly and hospitable advice. My partner and I have visited here for the past 4 years and would not consider staying anywhere else. This beautiful part of North Wales is an excellent base for exploring all that this unique area has to offer; the spectacular mountain scenery, the coast, pretty little villages (Portmeirion takes the biscuit!) National Trust properties and gardens, steam trains and more.

We stayed there on our trek on the snowdonia way and arrived completely soaked but were warmly welcomed by our hosts, who helped us put our shoes to dry. The bedroom was very comfortable and clean. Towels and shower gel was provided, which is great when you are backpacking. We really appreciated the kettle and tea tray in the bedroom to warm up after a long walk in the rain and handmade flapjacks were delicious. The full breakfast served in the morning was very good ,and all nicely presented. I especially loved the vegan oat and mushroom burger. We would definitely stay there again if we come back to Wales. Many thanks!

Beautifully restored Victorian property with lovely views over the village to the Dwyryd river estuary and the mountains beyond. Large rooms with comfy beds, period furniture, and modern en-suites. Generous breakfasts catering to all tastes. The owners, Sarah & Ian, are very welcoming and helpful, and are well established in the village, so very knowledgeable for local attractions, etc. Penrhyndeudraeth is an oft neglected village, but it's actually an excellent base to explore this part of Wales, especially with the new bridge over the Dwyryd, and the new Porthmadog by-pass. I stayed at the end of June for a couple of nights, which frankly wasn't enough, so I will be back!

The guest house owners were so welcoming when I turned up too early to check in. We only stayed one night as we were on a flying visit for a funeral. Our family room was so clean and beautifully decorated. Loved the toiletries, dressing gowns and range of hot drinks. The homemade biscuits were delicious! Would definitely recommend this gem of a b&b. Awesome breakfast too - nice chunky bacon.

Fantastic 1 night stay before starting a 4 day coast path hike.
We had the twin seaview room and it was beautiful and had everything and more than we required with the added bonus of a sofa.
The homemade shortbread biscuits were one of the highlights of our whole trip, absolutely scrumptious!
Breakfast was equally delicious and set us up for a days walking.
If we're ever back that way we wouldn't hesitate to book again.

We are walking the Snowdonia way from Machynlleth to Conwy and had a stop at Penrhyndeudraeth. We had a wonderfull stay at the historical house Wenallt. The room was big, stylish and the bed was perfect. Both host were ever so friendly and the breakfast was delicious.

We were looking for a Bed & Breakfast establishment as a base for our visit to North Wales and came across Wenallt from the 'Great Little Trains' website. Price was good, especially with the Great Little Trains discount, so we booked for 6 nights. The right decision was made! Wenallt is not only an excellent centre from which to visit the trains, quarries, Snowdon, National Trust and CADW properties, but the B&B itself is excellent as well. We agree with everyone's positive comments regarding the comfort of the rooms, beds, variety and quality of the breakfasts and welcome by Ian and Sarah. (The home made flapjacks and biscuits in the rooms each day are lovely too). For those visiting the 'Little Trains', Ian is a mine of information and a great help in journey planning. There are lots of books in the house informing you of where to go and what to see. Once you have stayed at Wenallt, it spoils you for other B&Bs. We hope to revisit North Wales again to visit the places we couldn't fit in during our 6 days, and we will certainly stay at Wenallt.

I stayed here for two nights at the end of a 3 week walk from Fishguard and easily found Wenallt which sits in a prominent location up a steep hill from the station.

I received a very friendly and chatty welcome from Sarah and was shown to probably the largest room in which I have ever stayed! It accommodated a pair of single beds, an easy chair, a 2 person settee, a coffee table and a TV - and loads of uncluttered space, more like a bed-sitting room and very clean, light and nicely decorated and furnished. Marvellous! A door in one corner led to a shower room/wc. The shower was easy to work, positive and quickly produced hot water.

Sarah brought fresh milk for my tea and there were home-made flapjacks too. On the landing was a well-stocked bookcase and I was invited to take advantage of Ian's railway books, being a steam enthusiast myself. Penrhyn station on the Ffestiniog is very close by. I caught the morning train to Blaenau, returned to Porthmadog, walked across the Cob and up to Portmeirion (worth visiting later in the day when admission prices are reduced, there are fewer visitors and the sun (with luck) will bring out the colours of the buildings and highlight the glorious estuary landscape). A very satisfying day which was rounded off with fish and chips with a cider sitting on the patio, with plate, cutlery (and a bottle opener!) provided by Ian .

As I was preparing to pop out for food on the first evening, there was a power cut. Sarah and Ian offered to run me through to the chippie in Porthmadog, but it came back on just as we were leaving.

The dining room was very pleasantly appointed. A good selection of cereals, fruit and yoghurts was followed by an excellent cooked breakfast and decent toast. Classical music played quietly in the background.

A hugely enjoyable (albeit short) stay and I hope to return in 2015.

We stayed here for Festival No 6 as we could not face another year in a wet tent. Absolutely wonderful B&B. The hosts - Ian and Sarah could not have been more welcoming. My daughter loved the extra attention given to her - finding her Cocoa Pops and trying to accommodate her fussy diet!

Especially loved the twin room that I had with my daughter - amazing views and lots of space. Also loved the extra special touches of home made flapjacks or biscuits.

Breakfasts were amazing!

Very clean throughout. We will be returning.......
